This DVD, based on Daft Punk's multi-platinum "Discovery" album, contains 12 episodes including 4 video/singles from that release. This is a part of RESfest, an annual global festival dedicated to showcasing innovative film, music, art, design and technology. Daft Punk are a highly influential electronic duo who surround themselves in mystique (the pair are rarely photographed without some kind of disguise), and produce songs that have captured a global imagination (their debut album sold over 2 million copies). Always keen to push back the boundaries of the video medium, the band have worked with luminaries such as Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry, and Roman Coppola. Taking their video-friendly approach up a notch, the band now presents this stunning anime feature, made in collaboration with Leiji Matsumoto (STAR BLAZERS). INTERSTELLA 5555: THE 5TORY OF THE 5ECRET 5TAR 5YSTEM is a stunningly rendered musical movie that combines the euphoric house beats of the band, with the seemingly unlimited imagination of Matsumoto. Daft Punk - Interstella 5555 Movie Review Average Rating: (4.7 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Daft Punk at it's best with great animation... It was simply amazing. The movie is actually really awesome, although for a bit you have a hard time just watching it to just see the story -
after a while it sinks in, and you're like "oh wait a second there IS a point... sort of..." It's interesting... although the idea of the hot brown haired guy from space coming and saving me from ultimate doom always cheers -me- up. Inspiration I saw the "One More Time" video years ago before I started listening to this kind of music. It was such an awesome video that it inspired me to start writing again. Anyhow, I enjoyed the lack of dialogue. It helps learn you how to feel the characters emotions without petty talk. If you like the "One More Time" video get this. Perfect for Daft fans. This is a very cool idea from one of my fave groups. They basically took the story from the original videos, "One more time", "Digital Love", etc. and made the entire DISCOVERY album into a full length anime! PRetty cool idea except don't expect any dialogue cuz there ain't any! They just play the CD straight thru and add a cartoon storyline to it. Don't get me wrong - the story is cool to watch and the anime is good. So, if you're a Daft Punk fan, if you like their original videos, if you like anime, if you like obscure cult-animation stuff like 'Heavy Metal', or Ralph Bakshi-type stuff...then you'll probably dig this DVD. The only downside (if you want to get anal about it), the special features section is pretty lame. Other than that, still worth 15 bucks. Buy it. Daft Punk rocks my socks! I had scoured the Internet for these music videos, but now here they are all on one DVD plus more! Kick ass! I’ve listened to their “Discovery” album in my car for weeks and I’ve grown to love every one of their songs, and now I can watch them all with accompanying exquisite animation. I’ve seen tons of anime, and I have to say Leiji Matsumoto is da bomb. I love Hayao Miyazaki’s animes like Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, and here is a completely different universe of anime also with exceptional animation and great storyline. This is definitely worth the money for any anime fan or daft punk fan, hope something like this happens again in the near future. Submitted by a reviewer (Houston, TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

$16.05 CHRONO CROSS, the sequel to the SNES favorite CHRONO TRIGGER, is one of the most ambitious role-playing games ever made. There are over 40 playable characters, each with their back-story, special moves, abilities, and weapons. The story spans two discs and follows the story of Serge, a young man who is able to cross dimensions. Suddenly he is pulled between worlds, trying to figure out his own past at the same time. The graphics are bright and beautiful, utilizing the PlayStation's capabilities to the fullest. The polygonal character models are huge and detailed, and the pre-rendered backgrounds are immaculately detailed. The music is composed and arranged by Yasunori Mitsuda, and features very realistic-sounding synthesizers. The battle system revolves around Elements, which are used to grant magical powers, as well as to summon huge monsters. For anyone that wanted to see the story of CHRONO TRIGGER continue, this is your chance.
