Soulwave
$12.65 Blowin' up the charts using his knowledge of the streets and hard bangin' snares provided by producer Easy Mo Bee, the Bedford-Stuyvesant native Notorious B.I.G. is far from "Ready To Die." Not since the likes of Slick Rick has there been an artist so successful in the storytelling genre of rap music, creating a mental picture of life in the heads of his listeners. The up-tempo "Gimme The Loot" illustrates the hustlin' ways of a trigger-happy robbery expert stressed from the "Everyday Struggle" of life. The recurrence of the Isley Brothers tune "Between The Sheets" adds to the charm of "Big Poppa," where Biggie portrays his "player" image. No need to skip any songs, READY TO DIE is ...

Soulwave
$11.39 Capone-N-Noreaga generated a strong buzz within hip-hop's underground circuit with their first album THE WAR REPORT, until, with an inevitability that seems to accompany the genre, Capone was incarcerated and promotion of the album ceased. However, Noreaga continued with his career, and had sizeable hits with his next two solo albums.

$9.85 THE HISTORY OF LOOKDOWN MOON: [from 2007 press release]Founded by Ann and Jason Loop, Lookdown Moon began in 1999 and was then called 'Mayfly'. Ann and Jason began performing locally (in the Duluth, Minnesota area) as an acoustic duo but would later play with a full band, while staying true to their original sound. Their music has been described as "skeletal, acoustic-based songs" with a lead singer that "defies comparison and destroys them with her smooth, soulful voice and with lyrics that jump from anger to loss to beauty". -Alan Sparhawk, Ripsaw News 2000Their debut recording endeavor was their contribution to Spinout's 2000 compilation release "Duluth Does Dylan", receiving acclaim for their version of "It Ain't Me Babe" [www.spinoutrecords.com] Mayfly maintained a weekly gig at the Norshor Theatre and appeared on the local music scene at various venues around the northland. In 2002, Ann and Jason collaborated with various local musicians to release an album entitled "Twilight Fair: Many Faces" benefitting the Mental Health Association. By putting music to lyrics written by women in the Fresh Start Program (a Duluth residence which serves women who live with borderline personality disorder), Ann and Jason promoted the Twilight Fair project with the intent of bringing awareness to talent of persons with mental illness and to break the social stigma of mental illness. In 2004, Lookdown Moon released a 4-song self-titled EP, which they recorded at Duluth's own Sacred Heart Recording Studio. [www.sacredheartstudio.net] With new songs in tow, Lookdown Moon headed into the studio in the spring of 2007. Working with Dave Hill at Inland Sea Recording studio in Superior, WI, [www.cranesong.com] Lookdown Moon laid down material for their debut Full-Length album to be released in October, 2007.THE SOUND OF LOOKDOWN MOON: [from LM's Website]Lookdown Moon isn't so much a band as they are a working experiment weaving sound with poetic lines and haunting stories. Founded by Ann and Jason Loop, they have been weaving melodies together at venues across ...
