Shakira's brand new English album She Wolf is an uptempo pop album. It is all about synthesizers and electronic concepts, all mixed with the world sounds that we are used to from Shakira.. sounds from countries like India, the Middle East and her home country of Colombia. She Wolf features a predominantly English track list with a follow up album of new and unique repertoire in Spanish to come in 2010. The title track "She-Wolf " boasts the infectious and energizing sound that made Shakira a household name, with a slightly more dancey/ electronic beat (about 125 beats per minute). Though most tracks on the upcoming album will be in English, Shakira chose to service the Spanish version of the first single, "Loba", two weeks before the English single is launched.

Fans expecting a collection of vintage Scott Walker are in for a surprise if they buy LOOKING BACK without doing a little research first. Before he was the reigning king of decadent-mope rock in the late '60s and early '70s, Walker was a struggling young singer who, during the late '50s and early '60s recorded numerous attempts at hit singles, some when he was still in high school.
As a result, this compilation of previously unreleased material showcases a somewhat less secure Scott Walker, who sings in a much higher register than most fans are used to. However this is still a pretty respectable collection, some of the tracks demonstrating the potential that early promoters must have seen in the young soon-to-be-recluse. After ten years of playing in the streets, at weddings, and in restaurants, the Gipsy Kings were swept away in a feast of commercial and critical success in the late '80s. By the late '90s, they had sold over 15 million albums worldwide and become one of the best-selling all-Spanish language acts in U.S. history. Their Greatest Hits collection, released in 1998, aptly reflects the time-perfected technique and soulful delivery that allowed them to transcend ethnic and age differences as few bands have. The introductory sequence of songs simply explodes out of the blocks. If consecutive hip-shakers "Djobi, Djoba," "Baila Me," "Bamboleo," "Pida Me La," "Bem, Bem, Maria," and "Volare" don't have you at least tapping your feet, someone ought to take your pulse. The tempo relaxes modestly in the middle section, with slower but equally moving love songs such as "Tu Quieres Volver" and "Mi Manera." The album finishes with a fluid medley of their most popular material. Wisely, seven of the album's 18 tracks were taken from the Gipsy Kings' 1988 self-titled debut, including "Bamboleo," "Djobi, Djoba," and "Moorea."
