$15.19 Rosa Lamoreauxâ€â€sopranoâ€â€has been hailed for her versatile musicianship, her radiant, engaging, and effortless singing, the diversity of her repertoire, and her many fine recordings. After winning the Handel Aria Competition at the Aspen Music Festival and an honor as finalist in the Oratorio Society Competition of New York, her career has taken her to the Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, and the Kennedy Center, among others. She has been soloist with the Atlanta Symphony and the Cincinnati Symphony and has won critical acclaim for her performances at Bach festivals in both the US and Europe. Recent and up-coming performances include Gloria by Handel at Grace Cathedral San Francisco, Shostakovich 14th Symphony with the Northwest Chamber Orchestra, St. John Passion of Bach at the Washington National Cathedral, Barber’s Knoxville Summer of 1915 with the National Philharmonic Orchestra, and recitals at the National Gallery of Art. A popular chamber music performer, she is the Artistic Director of the National Gallery of Art Vocal Ensemble and performs with the Folger Consort, ArcoVoce, and Hesperus, and she has toured with Musicians from Marlboro, and performed in Italy with the Carmel Bach Festival Chamber Musicians. Many of Rosa Lamoreaux’s performances and recordings have been broadcast on National Public Radio, BBC and CBC.Betty Bullock, pianistPianist Betty Bullock is equally at home in the worlds of classical music and the lighter repertoire of cabaret and music theater. She is active as a collaborative pianist in a wide variety of venues including performances in the Wagner repertoire at the German Embassy and the U. S. Supreme Court, on national television in a program honoring the victims of 9/11, and for the President and members of Congress in a recent “In Performance at the White House†telecast. Concert appearances have taken her to many venues in both the United States and Europe. This versatile musician has worked as a coach/accompanist for more than 20 seasons at the Washington Opera, and has been involved in recent years in the musical preparation of many operatic works for a variety of conductors, including Elektra, Salome, Turandot, Simon Boccanegra, Tristan und Isolde, Parsifal, Der Rosenkavalier, and Die Walküre under the baton of Music Director Heinz Fricke. In the summers, Ms. Bullock has taught at both the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria and at the University of Miami’s Summer Institute for Singers and Pianists in Salzburg, Austria. She has performed in Austria and Germany, and for five summers took part in a music festival in the Côte Chalonnaise region of France. She has degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and has also studied at the Mozarteum Music Academy in Salzburg and at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich on a grant from the German government. As a winner of the Franz Schubert Prize for Accompanists at the Schubert Institut in Austria, she has performed for Austrian National Radio in concert.
