Just As Expected This show is filled with the non-stop energy we are accustomed to from Steve. The editing is top-notch. The music is a kaleidoscope of ideas that only Steve could imagine. His backups are simply magnificent. I saw Steve live in Detroit and he was superb. I know that he has a much bigger fan base in Europe than in the US, which explains the packed audience in the DVD. I want him to come back though. But, for you people who don't care where he can be more successful, I strongly recommend this DVD. Wall-to Wall creativity at it's best. I could say more but gotta go. If you don't get it, you are takin a real big dump on yourself.

inspirational The video quality, editing and sound are all top notch. Plenty of extra features, some silly others informative... but the concert itself is absolutely incredible!! Vai and his renowned band of shredders tear through classics with taste and precision... with plenty of the theatrical mayhem that sets Vai apart from the other guitar gods. I was amazed at the virtuosity... this is a must for any fan of rock guitar (and bass... and drums!) Submitted by Dave (Salem, VA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Steve Vai Live DVD This is an awesome DVD. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer and included many more of his tunes. Very entertaining performer. Submitted by SMITH_MIKE (Wheatfield, New York) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Personnel: John Petrucci (guitar); Jordan Rudess (keyboards). Audio Mixer: Doug Oberkircher. Recording information: Helen Hayes Peforming Arts Center, Nyack, NY (06/10/2000). Evening with John Petrucci & Jordan Rudess is an unheralded recording by Dream Theater and Liquid Tension Experiment alumnus John Petrucci, and Jordan Rudess is a unique entry in the Dream Theater family discography. Recorded live in Nyack, New York, the duo performed a mixed set of acoustic and electric (guitar only) compositions. Both players are world-class musicians, but Rudess in particular demonstrates his well-rounded skills, proving why he is an in-demand session player for the likes of David Bowie and Paul Winter. Petrucci too is a fine musician, but lacks ...
