| | South Park Mexican Reveille Park CD (2002) Chop
You Already Know: Dropped And Dripped songs
$10.75 Carlos Coy's follow-up to 2001's NEVER CHANGE is harder and meaner than its predecessor, almost as if the South Park Mexican had decided to circle the wagons and forget all about trying to court popularity outside his immediate Houston circle. He's still at his best when he's trying to combine R&B with Hispanic and Caribbean influences, such as on the infernally catchy "Suckaz and Hataz," and "Lord Loco's Melody." This combination has a charm all its own, but on this outing Coy is mostly more than happy to stick to his chosen turf--drugs, guns and hoes, all set to the barest of backbeats and the sparsest of instrumentation. NEVER CHANGE showed that lurking somewhere inside SPM's cool macho interior is a wellspring ...
| | Baby Bash Tha Smokin' Nephew CD (2003) Chop
You Already Know: Dropped And Dripped album
$6.55 Principally recorded at The Clinic, Digital Services, Dope House Recording, Houston, Texas; R&D Studios, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Baby Bash hails from Houston, Texas, but he'll never be confused with the horror-movie violence of the local Geto Boys or the syrup-swiggers of the Screwed Up Click; Baby Bash is into his own thing. Signed to a major on the strength of the ultra-catchy, smooth-R&B-infused hit "Suga Suga," THA SMOKIN' NEPHEW, the spry rapper displays a variety of skills beyond the scope of the single.
While success has blown in overnight, ...

You Already Know: Dropped And Dripped album
$38.09 Mark Ronson's Japanese import edition of HERE COMES THE FUZZ features 14 tracks including one bonus recording.
Loaded with guest artists and packed with danceable beats, DJ Mark Ronson's first record, Here Comes the Fuzz, is less a showcase for the New York-based artist's turntable skills and more of a radio-friendly pop-rap party album. A rising star on the NYC club scene since the late '90s, the occasional Tommy Hilfiger model and son of glam rock icon guitarist Mick Ronson previously produced tracks for other hip downtown scenesters, including Saturday Night Live regular Jimmy Fallon as well as singer Nikka ...

| | Andy Stochansky 100 CD (2005) Import
You Already Know: Dropped And Dripped music CDs
$17.45 Years removed from his gig as Ani DiFranco's drummer, Andy Stochansky indulges his fans with this double-disc effort including his new studio album and a live recording. The album, produced by Johnny Rzenik of Goo Goo Dolls, is a rich, lush, and at times orchestral attempt to place smart melodic songs into a larger, fleshed-out sound that harks back at times to classic Bowie. Fans of Coldplay, U2, and Keane will notice this instantly on the satisfying pop groove of "All the Things You Are," which uses the timeless 4/4 beat to make it soar by the time the first verse has concluded. "Take my hand and I will show you all the things you are," Stochansky sings before reining things back in prior to verse two. What works so well is how he uses traditionally classical instruments to fit the pop mold, especially on the catchy, head-bobbing, radio-friendly "Shine," which, well, shines. The same could be said for the closing, anthem-ish "Wish." "Best Years" takes a bit longer ...
