Standard Screen; Soundtrack English Actor Michael J. Fox made his feature film debut in this teen comedy about one very strange night in L.A. In it, scavenger hunt maestro Leon challenges a variety of his college chums to participate in a tough, drawn-out game he names "The Great All-Nighter". The game demands that its participants must gather odd objects and decipher riddles to figure out where the finish line is. The first group there, wins. However, the competitors, who consist of geeks, jocks and snobs, just might kill each other before they find a single clue. Film debut for actor Michael J. Fox.
Though "Midnight Madness" was produced by the Disney studio, executives removed the company logo from the film prior to release because they felt the material in the teen romp was too irreverent for its corporate image.
Additional cast: Brad Wilkin (Lavitas); Maggie Roswell (Donna); Joel P. Kenney (Flynch); and Alan Solomon (Leon).
Color by Technicolor. Midnight Madness Reviews: "...Frank Phillips does a fine job photographing a variety of locales....[The] music is appropriately youthful..."

AMERICAN GRAFFITI presents a powerful collage of youth on the brink of maturity just before the assassination of J.F.K.. Based on George Lucas's own teenage hot-rodding days in Modesto, California, this brilliant, bittersweet comedy inspired numerous other productions, including the long-running TV series HAPPY DAYS. Lucas's second feature film (following THX 1138), AMERICAN GRAFFITI contains an early screen appearance by Harrison Ford, who would figure heavily in the director's next movie, the sci-fi epic STAR WARS. The film follows one night in the lives of several recently graduated high school students. The genial Steve (Ron Howard) prepares to leave for college the next day, and Laurie (Cindy Williams), his girlfriend, is upset by his impending departure. Laurie's brother, Curt (Richard Dreyfuss), the class intellectual, is also slated for college, but he has serious doubts about his future. Also included here are the hopeless nerd (Charles Martin Smith) and the eternally ...

$9.79 With SPANGLISH, writer/director/producer James L. Brooks (AS GOOD AS IT GETS) unfurls yet another accomplished, tender, romantic comedy. Celebrated chef John Clasky (Adam Sandler) is the patriarch of the Clasky household, but the mood swings of his hypersensitive wife, Deborah (Tea Leoni), are what really runs the show. When the Claskys hire the beautiful Flor (Paz Vega) to be their maid, their already rocky relationship faces some even bigger boulders. Spanish-speaking Flor is a sincere, loving single mother whose daughter, Christina (Shelbie Bruce), receives lavish displays of affection from Deborah. Meanwhile, Deborah neglects her own son and daughter in much the same way that her self-absorbed, alcoholic mother, Evelyn (Cloris Leachman), neglected her. Eventually Deborah crosses a line when she betrays her husband with the real estate broker who is helping her search for a beach house. Faced with this challenge, John and Flor, who share a clear attraction to one another, get the chance to explore their feelings.
Brooks populates his film with wholly believable characters. On first glance ...

Midnight Madness video
$33.35 Benny Hill set out his stall early on in his career, with the bawdy hi-jinks that made his name seemingly an ever-present theme in his work. This didn't please everyone, and Benny saw his career cut short in the UK when TV bosses ended his show after succumbing to a bout of political correctness. The rest of the world didn't follow suit however, and Benny enjoyed something of a latter-day golden era, finding fame in the USA and elsewhere. This release offers a chance to travel back to the halcyon days Benny enjoyed in the 1970s, with a third compilation of highlights from Benny's early years. Most of this material has never previously been shown in the US, and fans will be delighted to discover the blueprints for much of the material that followed.

$13.59 This mesmerizing documentary provides--via cameras installed in security fixtures and in other intimate spots--a fly-on-the-wall look at the recording sessions of Martin Atkins's industrial supergroup Damage Manual as they lay down track after track.
The Damage Manual documentary is a record of the London sessions of the original line-up of the band. The camera is in the studio as Wobble lays down a bass track, Geordie tunes up and overdubs, Chris Connelly sits as the camera looks over his shoulder as he writes lyrics to Leave the Ground. Lee Fraser of Sheep On Drugs hypnotizes himself with some keyboard overdubs. The bands publicist flies over from the USA and sits chatting with the band as Geordie Walker (of Killing Joke) is shot for a magazine. The viewer is there in the studio, punctuated by the beep of the door bell - attached to a security camera, you can hear Martin ...
