Never known as an album band, with the release of The Association, this band proved to listeners that it was moving in the right direction. Other highlights include "Look at Me, Look at You" and "Under Branches," and although The Association didn't exactly burn up the album charts, it did help to show that there was more to this band than just Top Ten singles. ...See Full Description

|Great Underratted Album|
I love this album, but then I was going to college in Dubuque when it was released. "Dubuque Blues" was the A-side of a single which never charted nationally despite performances on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and "The Tonight Show" and full-page ads in Billboard magazine. I guess you had to be there..The song was inspired by the group's appearance at a "Ramp Dance" one summer hight on the top level of a downtown Dubuque parking garage. Listen to the audio clips of each track. If you like them you probably will like the album, too. If you just want the Association's greatest hits, this may not appeal to you at all.

this album doesn't have a bad song on it.when it came out i purchased the album and my friends thought i had gone soft on them until they gave it a listen.the association then sold 6 more copies of their self titled album.buy this one before you can't anymore.i bought a much more expensive japanese import copy about 10 years ago.
