Soundtrack English; English Subtitles Ivy Moore, a black housekeeper in a white household, has grown weary of domestic service. She dreams of leaving her sterile lifestyle and Long Island residence for big city living and a series of adventures on the road to self-discovery. Her employers, however, are loath to lose her. They've even offered Ivy a trip to Africa as an incentive to stay in their employ. But just when it looks like she's about to leave, one of her employer's children finds the one person who could make her stay: Jack Parks, a handsome, eligible bachelor who'd be a perfect match for Ivy. A family fears they are going to lose their maid and confidante to the business world. The children decide on matchmaking, and with a little blackmailing, entice secret gambler Poitier to date her. All with difficult results, but a happy ending. This film is notable for its ground-breaking portrayal of a relationship between African American actors. $9.85 Clyde Williams (Sidney Poitier) and Billy Foster (Bill Cosby) belong to a community group called The Sons and Daughters of Shaka. The city of Atlanta has plans to take away the group's meeting place, and The Sons and Daughters of Shaka don't have the money to finance a new one. Clyde and Billy come up with a hair-brained scheme to raise money for a new lodge hall by fixing a boxing match. Their plan is to hypnotize a weakling boxer and make him think he's unbeatable. Then they'll place bets on his "sure-win" fights. Their idea is ...

$17.89 W.I.S.O.R. stands for Welding and Inspection Steam Operations Robot. It was invented in 1999 by a team of scientists from Honeybee Robotics who were contracted by Con Edison to build it. W.I.S.O.R.'s purpose is to navigate the vast network of steam pipes underneath New York City, identify minor cracks in the pipes, and weld them back together.
This educational documentary gives a history of New York City's development, explaining how the steam pipes were built, what they do, the problems that developed as they began to age and deteriorate, and why W.I.S.O.R. is needed. Using voice over narration while rolling archival footage of men digging trenches for pipes in the late 1800s, or while showing footage of the cleanup from a steam pipe break in 1999 that shot 300-degree water tainted with cancer-causing asbestos 15 stories into the air; the film pulls together pieces of the ...

For Love Of Ivy DVD
$31.79 CLUB DREAD: With CLUB DREAD, the twisted minds behind 2001's surprise hit comedy SUPER TROOPERS return with a machete and more laughs. This time, the Broken Lizard troupe--Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske--send up two genres at once, combining the spring break romp with the gory slasher picture. It's spring break on Pleasure Island, Costa Rica, and bikini-clad revelers have just landed to spend the next week partying their days and nights away. There's Dave (Soter), the drug-wielding DJ; Putman (Chandrasekhar), the ambiguously accented tennis instructor; Juan (Lemme), the diving guru; Sam (Stolhanske), the Fun Sheriff; Lars (Heffernan), the incredibly gifted masseur; and Coconut Pete (Bill Paxton), the flaky island guru. Then there is Jenny (Brittany Daniel), the gorgeous aerobics instructor, and newcomer Penelope (Jordan Ladd), who falls under the spell of Juan. Unfortunately, someone else has arrived on the island with a machete and a severe dislike for several of the camp's residents. As the blood begins to flow, and flow, and keep flowing, everyone becomes a suspect, until no one can trust anyone else.
SUPER TROOPERS: A group of state troopers who preside over a quiet stretch of highway in Vermont are allowed time to pursue their own interests due to the low crime rate--this mostly entails playing elaborate pranks on each other and on the hapless speeders they stop. Their captain, O'Hagan (Brian Cox), asks them to settle down for a while, because the governor (an amusing cameo by TV's former WONDER WOMAN, Lynda Carter) is thinking of cutting off their funding and turning their precious highway over to the jurisdiction of the hated local cops, headed by the sneaky Chief Grady (Daniel Von Bargen). The wild and not very bright troops are unable to stay out of trouble, so they'll only keep their jobs if they somehow manage to crack a big drug case.
KUNG POW!: ENTER THE FIST: Director Steve Oedekerk (ACE VENTURA: WHEN NATURE CALLS) wrote, produced, and stars in this this goofy spoof of martial arts movies, which he created by re-dubbing and digitally inserting himself into a 1976 Kung Fu film called TIGER AND CRANE FIST. Oedekerk plays The Chosen One (so named because of his magic ...
