"Forthenight" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Urban/Alternative Performance.
For Musiq, soul is everything. From his former professional surname, Soulchild, to his third record's title, SOULSTAR, and even an album photo that features him wearing a T-shirt reading "Soul Rebel," Musiq makes it abundantly clear that soul is his driving force. Not surprisingly, SOULSTAR lives up to its name, as Musiq locks into a series of tight grooves and lets his smooth voice carry the tunes.
The opening title track begins with some deft scratching and a delicate string backing that gives way to Musiq's velvety croon and Carol Riddick's old-school R&B vocal refrain. On "Womanopoly," Musiq's lyrics cleverly riff on the real estate board game and coast over a strolling beat. Perhaps most impressively, the vocalist pulls off an inventive cover of the Rolling Stones' "Miss You" that shuffles along to a dynamic arrangement. Producing albums this enjoyably consistent is proof positive of this SOULSTAR's staying power.

Musiq does it again ya'll. This CD is for the old and young fans of soul. I haven't been able to stop playing it because his voice is so beautiful, and the tracks are just infectious! Don't miss out, get Soulstar!

 MUSIQ TORE IT UP!!!
THIS IS SO FAR THE BEST CD AND HAS ALOT OF UP TEMPO MUSIC. TRACKS 1 AND 4 ARE OFF THE HOOK. I WOULD BUY MUSIQ AGAIN AND I THINK HE GOING TO BE AROUND FOR A GOOD WHILE.

Quite Possibly One of the All-Time Greats?
First off, Soulstar is an excellent album. The vocal and instrumental arrangements are superlative. Soulstar, the title track is like nothing I've heard before. Musiq has put togehter another classic and in my mind he is one the best singers to ever pick up a mic. It's just he's not mainstream like Usher. A lot of other people would think that too if he sold more.

This album is BIG!! Definately one of the best albums ever made. I love his voice and no one can say that this album doesnt make them feel good. His voice is truely moving and sexy and you will only be doing yourself a big favour if you buy this album. BIG UP!! (-;

This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns up on what sounds dangerously close to a lounge version of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing," but this minor faux pas is redeemed by the Irish folk medley "Joy of Life/Trout in the Bath" which arguably features ...

The four-man group One Twelve began its career as the innocent soul crooners of Puff Daddy's Bad Boy crew. The quartet's first records were inviting slabs of gospel-tinged R&B honey, top-heavy on the ballads; however, with PART III, they shifted gears into an edgier, tougher sound with more frenetic, pulsating dance beats and more suggestive lyrics. (They also slightly re-christened themselves, switching from the numerals 112 to the spelled-out One Twelve.) On the fittingly titled HOT & WET, the group continues this transformation.
HOT & WET opens on an almost serene intro that weaves their earlier hits into a uniquely disarming landscape before setting a tone with the sexually charged, haunting "It's Goin' Down 2Nite," featuring T.I. in a guest appearance. The mood stays put on the title track, as Ludacris drops by with his usual verbal flair. It's difficult to imagine a better musical backdrop to a romantic encounter than this collection of luxuriously seductive cuts from a singer fast rising to the top of the pile of R&B mack daddies.
