LET THE LOVIN TAKE A HOLD, CUZ IT WILL IF YOU LET IT, This DVD really gives you a great insight in how the stories behind Sublime unfold. Allot of personal interviews with family member's, including his Wife, and Father. So sad really, but out of it all he managed to touch everyone with his music and I'm glad that i was around to at least enjoy that. Thanks BRADLY, and SUBLIME. This DVD is Amazing. If your not a Sublime fan, you will be after you watch this DVD. Submitted by ds143damnsam (San Antonio TX) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Sublime - Stories, Tales, Lies & Exaggerations video
$10.39 The sound is a blistering blend of ska, reggae, and '80s West Coast thrash a la Black Flag, with a healthy dose of spoken-word and rub-a-dub dancehall thrown in for good measure. This magnificent debut was required listening on the Southern California skateboard circuit. Fans of any of the aforementioned musical styles are likely to get a kick out of hearing singer Brad Nowell rollick through songs ...

Sublime - Stories, Tales, Lies & Exaggerations film
$8.49 In 2002, MCA released Robbin' the Hood/Sublime, which contained two albums -- Robbin' the Hood (1996, originally released on MCA) and Sublime (1996, also originally on MCA) -- by Sublime on one compact disc. ~ Gregory McIntosh
Pieced together rather quickly, Robbin' the Hood wasn't really intended to be the follow-up to Sublime's debut, ...
| | Sublime Second-Hand Smoke CD (1997)
Sublime - Stories, Tales, Lies & Exaggerations review
$11.99 SECONDHAND SMOKE is a collection of previously unreleased tracks along with alternate and dub takes of currently available material. This limited edition release of SECOND HAND SMOKE is packaged with a t-shirt.
It is often said that the quickest way for an artist to become famous is to die. The obvious flip-side of this is that the artist doesn't get to enjoy the fruits of his labors. On SECOND-HAND SMOKE, the surviving Sublime members and long-time collaborator Miguel gather together some of their earliest demos along with more recent out-takes in a final tribute to their late leader, drug casualty Brad Nowell.
Comparing the earliest work on this release to the later hits, it's striking how far Nowell's songwriting had progressed. The band was just beginning to synthesize its diverse influences into something that was instantly recognizable as Sublime. The early songs range from the straight pop of "New Realization" to reggae ("Don't Push") to the blend of ska and hip hop that was their signature ("Garbage Grove"). On "April 29th 1992 (Leary)," Nowell explores the real motivation behind the LA riots from the partly-humorous, partly-serious point-of-view that would characterize the bulk of his work. One can only wonder how far ...
| | Sublime Stand By Your Van Live CD (1998)
Sublime - Stories, Tales, Lies & Exaggerations DVD
$12.29 Recorded live in various clubs before the band had their major breakthrough, STAND BY YOUR VAN is a collection of early songs unfamiliar to most novice fans of Sublime. What you hear is the good-spirited party-vibe of Brad Nowell before his untimely death. On the verge of greatness at the time of these recordings, Nowell and the band run through 16 songs including a track that pays homage to hip-hop legend KRS-One.
By combining ska, punk, reggae, hip-hop and dub, Sublime would have Rastas grooving, southern California punks moshing and beach bunnies soaking it up all at the same time. The vibe on all of these recordings reflects the love, respect and warmth that each and every Sublime show possessed. Tracks were recorded at Kommotion (San Fransisco), The Palace (Hollywood), House of Blues (Hollywood) and the WARPED Tour (Asbury Park, NJ) from September 1994 to April 1996. Check out the non-stop party with songs like "New Thrash," "Greatest Hits" and "S.T.P."
