$13.15 Dear Web Site Guests, Welcome! I'd like to introduce myself. Here are some excerpts from a recent interview. What Inspires Your Music?Life has seen me through some very interesting highs and lows. I believe that I have witnessed and played a part in some seedy, some virtuous, and odd sides and dimensions of our curious world. Depth of experience and colorful existence is translated poetically through my music. Some may be soothed when emotional music is played knowing that they are not alone in their experiences. I would like to have that effect upon others.Where do you hail from?I was born in San Jose, California and I have basically lived my whole life in the Silicon Valley. What I love about my home town is that it is metropolitan and diverse. It also has a rich heritage and history: the valley used to be known as the Valley of Heart's Delight and was once rich in agriculture. I love nature and the most spectacular views can be found here if you know where to look for them. What is Your Musical Influences?Music was always a monumental part of my upbringing. Growing up, my family listened to music of all genres. With such a diversity of musical influences it might be interesting to guess what I sound like and understand why I write songs in different categories. My house was so full of music that you would have thought a DJ lived there and never left.Vocal training?I have studied voice in high school and at Santa Clara University. (I graduated with a bachelors in Communication with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism.)My music is not based on theory and has enabled me to free flow and create the unexpected in harmony and melody writing. I go places that have not been explored perhaps in a new way because no one told me I was not supposed to go there...Don't believe them when they say that everything has already been written before. I usually make up songs when I hear a rhythm in my head. However, I also hear music in the simple sounds of buses, trains, cars, birds, rivers, oceans, and crickets; have you ever heard the rhythm of a copy machine? .To whom do you owe your appreciation?I would like to send out a special thanks to Mark Stein of I'm Stein Recording (http://www.myspace.com/imsteinrecording) ...
