Blinded
$11.89 The opening title track of Aaron Neville's 2005 Christmas album, which extends a heartfelt prayer to those in need, has proved to be resoundingly poignant, since the singer's beloved hometown, New Orleans, was destroyed--leaving thousands homeless and displaced--by that September's Hurricane Katrina. While the shadow of the tragedy lingers over the first song, the rest of CHRISTMAS PRAYER does its best ...
| | Chris Tomlin Arriving CD (2004) Enhanced CD
Blinded
$15.05 In the wake of the mainstream commercial acceptance of P.O.D. and Jars of Clay, the early 2000s saw a surge of Christian artists exploring a myriad of rock styles paired with less overtly religious lyrics. On 2004's ARRIVING, however, Chris Tomlin sticks to the traditional CCM mold, offering up an album of modern, radio-ready pop that unabashedly and explicitly praises Jesus. Tomlin's take is often that of a wide-eyed innocent who is continually amazed by the scope and wisdom of the Lord's vision. His words of joy are matched with mostly up-tempo, relentlessly catchy tunes, delivered with soaring vocal harmonies and foot-tapping, alternative-rock-style rhythms. Often sounding like a cross between the straight-ahead ...

| | Stryper Soldiers Under Command CD (1985)
Blinded
$8.49 While The Yellow and Black Attack! earned Stryper a fair amount of publicity, it was Soldiers Under Command that put the band on the map commercially. The album went gold, and Stryper became a major hit on MTV without abandoning its Christian message. Glossy yet intense pop-metal like "The Rock That Makes Me Roll" and "Surrender" definitely promotes Christianity, but does so without condemning non-Christians or pointing the finger at other religions. Ironically, one of lead singer Michael ...
| | Kiss Me: The Best Of Sixpence None The Richer CD (2004)
Blinded
$8.95 This 18-track collection presents the finest songs performed by Sixpence None the Richer, a Texas-based alternative-pop group with Christian leanings that rose to prominence in the late 1990s when its light, airy single "Kiss Me" appeared in the teen movie SHE'S ALL THAT. Although the band, fronted by honey-voiced singer Leigh Nash, never matched the success of that hit, it did record several popular cover tunes, including a faithful ...

$9.09 LLEGAR A TI was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Performance and "Llegar A Ti" was nominated for the 2000 Latin Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Performance.
LLEGAR A TI was nominated for the 2000 Billboard Latin Music Award for Female Pop Album Of The Year & Album Of The Year by a new artist.
LLEGAR A TI was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Performance.
The lovely Jaci walks a new path on LLEGAR A TI, offering this third album entirely in Spanish. She's clearly branching out to spread her message, since many of these are tunes that previously appeared in English on her self-titled effort. Set in delightful, delicate pop arrangements, these are touching songs in which Jaci shares her candid dialogues with a divine being. While each track sheds its own unique light on Jaci's beliefs, one thread runs clearly throughout: His enduring centrality in her life. Veteran producer Mark Heimermann returns yet again to lend a helping hand in the studio, which surely enhances the sense of reassured confidence permeating the recording.
"Solo Tu" is one of the many stirring ballads here, with its wafts of synthesizer and acoustic guitar and the ebb and flow of its backing choral harmonies. "Manatial De Caricias" is loads of tropi-pop fun,

| | Watts 1965 V.O.W.S. CD (2006)
Blinded
$6.99 About WATTS 1965Watts, California, the little town bordering "Compton", has a powerful recent Black history. It became a magnet for Blacks (mostly from Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas), looking for a better standard of living in the 1930's, and 40's and had a strong do-for-self Black owned business ideal. The early 1950's and 60's showed integration becoming popular with upper middle class Blacks and they took with them a lot of inspiration and business out of the community. Police containment and repression took its place. One hot summer day in August, 1965, police abuse and injustice came to a head, and turned common people, just regular folks, overnight into a community of self-defense fytahs and unity makers, who in turn, shook the world. All Black slums represent Watts. There's a "WATTS" (repression, outrage, anger, fear)in all of us. So, with proper respect to recent Black history, and to all freedomfytahs who sacrifice themselves ...
