This comedic and touching family film follows the adventures of a shy young boy (Haley Joel Osment) who is sent to spend the summer with his eccentric uncles (Michael Caine, Robert Duvall). At first shocked by his uncles' unconventional behavior that includes ordering African lions through the mail, the boy soon becomes enthralled with unraveling the mystery that has followed the uncles for years. Hearing tales of their exotic adventures involving kidnapped princesses, Arabian sheiks and lost treasure, not only brings him closer to his uncles but also teaches him what it means to believe in something, Set in Texas in the 1950s, SECONDHAND LIONS tells the touching story of Walter (Haley Joel Osment), a shy teenager sent to stay with two estranged uncles for the summer. Various rumors surround the two uncles (played by Robert Duvall and Michael Caine), mostly because the duo have only recently resurfaced into family life after 40 years spent carrying out misdeeds and illicit activities. The one fact about the men, of which Walter's mom is only too aware, is that they appear to be extremely wealthy, having stashed over one million dollars in cash at an undisclosed location. After initially balking at Walter's inherent shyness and nervous disposition, the two men soon warm to the child, and proceed to tell him some incredible tales of their adventures.
Director Tim McCanlies lets SECONDHAND LIONS unfold at a leisurely pace, allowing Caine and Duvall to play off each other and slowly bring Osment's character out of his shell. As all the characters become invigorated by the stories and tall tales, a neat bond is formed between them, with some touching interplay and valuable lessons in life for Osment. This is a moving coming-of-age film that the whole family can enjoy. 2nd hand lions, 1st rate characters This was a marvelously inspired film that reveals the wonderful character hidden behind what others cast off as only second-hand lions. Their wealth goes far beyond their finances, but that's something you need to discover on your own. Submitted by Willard (Sewickley, PA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 3 of 4 found this helpful.

Awesome! This is one of the best movies that I have ever seen in my life and I'm 42 years old.
I am a lover of classic movies starting from 1936 to 1962 anything after that is ok, although there are some movies after that time that I like. Haley has the ability to draw from his emotions and make you feel exactly what it is he feels, I love his acting. He is one of the most under rated young actors today. He is a rare talent in hollywood. What can I say about Duvall and Cain, they are off the chain! Duvall was great. I loved the story line in this movie, so glad that I got it. I passed this movie by so many times thinking that I wouldnt like it, so glad that I finally picked it up. Wow! Submitted by debbiec (Los Angeles, California) Was This Review Helpful? $23.45 Co-helmed by WALL-E director Andrew Stanton, FINDING NEMO follows Marlin (voiced by Albert Brooks), an overprotective clown fish father, as he desperately searches the farthest reaches of the sea for his missing son Nemo. Marlin's journey leads him beyond the Great Barrier Reef into deeper and darker waters, where he meets Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), a forgetful yet optimistic blue tang, and a number of not-so-friendly--and often very hungry--aquatic creatures. Meanwhile, little Nemo finds himself in a dentist's fish tank in Syndey, Australia, along with other underwater captives, including Gill (Willem Dafoe), the group's scarred Moorish idol leader. As Nemo works with his new friends on a plan to escape their tank, Marlin and Dory swim closer, but they'll need more than just fins to get into the dentist's office.
This fifth computer-animated outing by Pixar continues the company's remarkable winning streak that began with TOY STORY. Like other Pixar films, FINDING NEMO features ...

Secondhand Lions review
$10.49 Born of the world of underground skateboard videos--where viewers watch more for the accidents than for the tricks--JACKASS began as an MTV series before becoming a big-screen sensation in 2002. Four years on, Johnny Knoxville is a movie star, and cohorts Bam Margera, Chris Pontius, and Steve-O have started successful franchises. One would think that they have moved on---yet here they are, back for more stunts and pranks involving defecation, ejaculation, and pubic hair, and ranging from the disgusting to the ridiculous.
Like its predecessor, undoubtedly--in relation to its budget--one of the most profitable studio films in history, JACKASS: NUMBER TWO is merely a series of wince-inducing stunts. These often result in injury--filmed with a handheld camcorder. Highlights this time around include a four-person teeter-totter in the middle of a bull ring; Knoxville, Pontius, and Margera being blasted ...
