Brian Bart -- the man behind Tribute to 50 Cent and Tribute to Green Day -- does all the music and someone named Rashidi does all the vocals on this cash-in tribute to R. Kelly. Rashidi is a fair singer but a bit too nasal to carry this off and on tracks like the rapid-fire "Ignition" it sounds like he's got his finger on the lyric sheet. If Rashidi has any personality he doesn't show it, and arrangements try hard to mimic the original recordings. Maybe thirty or so years from its release there would be some oddball, archival, camp allure to this recording, but it's hard to figure out why anyone would want flat, swagger-free imitations of Kelly's personality filled music. ~ David Jeffries

$9.58 I AM. SASHA FIERCE represents another change of pace for Beyoncé. Unlike the relatively streamlined, retro-soul inflected B'DAY, I AM... is a sprawling two-disc set designed to reflect two conflicting sides of Beyoncé's musical personality. The first disc sports reflective, sometimes moody ballads, while the second, attributed to Beyoncé's brash alter ego, Sasha Fierce, is loaded with propulsive dance-floor fillers. Except for this stylistic divide, I AM. pays only nominal attention to its supposed concept, focusing instead on a set of excellent, ...

Tribute To R. Kelly CD music
$10.15 "It is truly one of the best cd I've come across in a long time!" -Mr. Miller at Wilbert's MusicSOUNDS OF ITHACA : CD REVIEW::::: "On its debut CD, Thousands of One serves up political party music from the same galaxy as John Brown's Body and J-San and the Analogue Sons. This is spiritual, Afrocentric funk-soul-reggae hip-hop hybrid. Things get a little post-romantic on "Jezebel", but generally the mood is pious, positive and unpretentious. The group is anti-corporate, pro-community, anti-hatred, and pro-sugar - all more or less unimpeachable positions. On "One More Hand", Jhakeem Haltom announces that he's "like an ascetic monk in India / except I'm kinda loud." Haltom's got a great, clear voice that sometimes evokes Stevie Wonder and sometimes - oddly enough - Steely Dan's Donald Fagen. Regan Carver's sax solos stand out, but everything's tied together by the capable production of Elliot Martin. Listening to the album, I'm kicking myself for not having seen these guys in concert yet. These songs came together as a result of frequent jamming at the Rongo and elsewhere, and they do sound organic and involved, but not at all haphazard, and never, ever sloppy." -Casey Westerman - Ithaca Times 11/30/05"Thousands of One" the ambitious self-titled Fall '05 release on Ithaca, NY indie I-Town Records has been warmly received by critics and fans alike for its classic soul meets funk electro-remix sound.Gaining notoriety for their spirited live shows in clubs and festivals throughout the northeast, Thousands of One jumps from activist/ retro soul -- think Olu Dara or Marvin Gaye - to underground hip hop a la Roots or Talib Kweli with a funk/rock edge. Recorded at Shut-in Studios, Producer Elliot Martin combined his love of space age synth and analog knobs with a loyalty to the band's eclectic live sound. Also vocalist - songwriter - producer of internationally acclaimed Roots Reggae band John Brown's Body, Martin contributes harmony vocals and percussion on several tracks. The result is a work of art that explores uncharted sonic textures. The magic of this year old collective springs from its commitment to building a street vibe, 'paying their dues' playing for the people at clubs, schools, music festivals, block parties, and community benefits. They ...

Tribute To R. Kelly songs
$12.69 Mr. Ozwald (a.k.a Oz) left his hometown of West Hartford at age 18 to go to school in NYC. After finishing his first year at PACE University, Oz dropped out of college to pursue music full time. With no real plan in motion, Oz hit the streets to make a living selling his music hand-to-hand; hustling primarily at the Jay Street-Borough Hall subway station in Brooklyn, Times-Square, and W8th in Manhattan. Selling thousands of CD's gorilla style, Oz generated a strong buzz throughout NYC and continued his grind until he was finally arrested for selling his music without a vendors license... by an undercover cop no less. After spending a night in jail and completing his community service, Oz decided to take a short vacation and relax for a few days.During this hiatus, Oz stumbled upon an underground poker club in Manhattan, walked in as a card player, and walked ...
