| | Louvin Brothers Country Christmas CD Louvin Brothers Discography of CDs
While many Yuletide efforts are toss-offs, this gem captures the qualities that made the Louvin Brothers one of the most compelling and satisfying close-harmony acts that ever recorded. Charlie and Ira's high lonesome sound recasts "O Little Town of Bethlehem" with the smoky flavor of the hills of Kentucky. But they truly shine on more obscure traditional numbers like "Good Christian Men Rejoice" and "The Friendly Beasts." The reissue also features an added bonus of two original compositions not available on the vinyl release. ~ Tim Sheridan
Originally released on Capitol (1616).Entertainment Weekly (12/5/97, p.94) - "...A couple of songs sport awkwardly saccharine vocal choruses, but the remainder feature gracefully spare arrangements that highlight Ira and Charlie Louvin's achingly bittersweet harmonies. Their gospel fervor ought to resonate with the faithful and heathens alike." - Rating: B Country Christmas Music | List Price | $12.97 (You save $2.28) | | Category | Pop Albums, Country CDs, Christmas | | Label | Gusto | | Orig Year | 1961 | | All Time Sales Rank | 42778 | | CD Universe Part number | 6632094 | | Catalog number | 106 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Nov 07, 2003 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Mixed | | Producer | Ken Nelson |

Country Christmas CD music
$10.19 Brian Eldredge, a native of Dover, New Hampshire, began playing music at the age of twelve. By the time he was fifteen he was in his first band, and continued to play in various musical groups, throughout New England. At the age of 21, he decided to pull up roots and move to California. After playing, for over a decade, in the greater Sacramento area, he once again relocated, this time to Reno Nevada, where he now resides with his wife Ann. Brian plays the piano, guitar, drums, bass guitar, and the harmonica, but most of all loves to sing. For the last thirteen years Brian has performed in a national touring act called 'The Creagles'. The act consists of two tribute bands, Creedance Clearwater Revival, and The Eagles, thus 'The Creagles'. Brian's ability to change his vocal style has earned him the nickname 'dial-a-voice', and has enabled him to play the rolls of both John Fogerty and Don Henley. For over a decade Brian has enjoyed the privileges of opening for such national acts ...

Country Christmas music CDs
$11.49 Joshua Colburn (formerly of Eleventeen) is at it again, this time writing songs expanding on the famous passage from the Bible known as The Lord's Prayer. While the inspiration for these songs is age-old, the lyrical approach and musical content is anything but old. Joshua has teamed up with producer, engineer, arranger and musician Scott MacGill to create a style that is uniquely theirs. Drawing on diverse influences (Ryan Adams, Tom Waits, Counting Crows, and Wilco to name a few), these songs create a sonic landscape that pulls you in and doesn't let go. Take a listen - we think you'll like what you hear.FULL OF LAND & SEA BIO:Of Land & Sea is not your typical band name, which is appropriate, because this is not your typical band. Born out of the contrasting styles and unearthly connection of its main members, OL&S has found making music easy from day one. Two musicians could not have much different backgrounds than Joshua Colburn and Scott MacGill. Joshua was raised on the likes of James Taylor, Van Morrison and Pink Floyd. He ended up gravitating to punk and it's derivatives, then to alt-country and alt-rock in their many forms. His more current influences are Ryan Adams, Counting Crows and Sunny Day Real Estate. Scott was raised on bands like Rush, Boston and Van Halen on one side, and funk and R&B from artists like Stevie Wonder, Sly & The Family Stone and Earth, Wind & Fire on the other. Where they've come together is making music that isn't afraid to explore new musical territory, and isn't afraid to be honest about where they're coming from in life, whether it's about loving God or taking life in the chops. Scott MacGill (keyboards, vocals, percussion) has been playing, recording, writing, directing, producing and engineering (both studio and live) music for over 30 years. A product of Richmond, CA, he's been playing in and working with Bay Area bands his whole life. While Scott has extensive experience, he's never had a better extended musical experience than working with Joshua. 'Sometimes we just have to laugh, because we're thinking the same thing so much in the studio and on stage', says Scott, 'It's pretty amazing having a writing partner who has such a different perspective, and yet consistently comes to the same conclusions you do. 'While Joshua ...
