It all began as a regular get together at Allen's in Toronto with Canadian music icon Murray McLauchlan and old friends Ian Thomas and Marc Jordan. After adding the voice of Cindy Church, a "lunch at Allen's" turned into an outstanding band who performs some of Canada's (and the worlds) most enjoyed songs from each of these songwriters impressive catalogues. Many of these signature classics have been covered by the likes of America ("Right Before Your Eyes"), Rod Stewart ("Rhythm Of My Heart"), Amanda Marshall ("Fall From Grace") and went on to become Top Pop Hits! You'll see and hear these songs and more, in an acoustic setting. A group of Canada's finest musicians and songwriters came together, almost by accident, to form the group Lunch at Allen's. Keyboardist Murray McLachlan joined his friends, songwriters Marc Jordan and Ian Thomas for regular performances at Allen's in Toronto; upon the addition of Cindy Church's voice, they started playing together as a band. Jordan and Thomas are known for producing hits for the likes of Bette Midler, Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, and Santana, while Church's singing has become a staple on the folk music circuit. The musicians trade instruments and take turns singing, while the atmosphere is kept light and humorous, with the repertoire including a few tall tales for good measure. With a warm, engaging delivery, the group's obvious rapport for one another and sheer talent characterize this acoustic show that includes each performer's greatest hits.
This is the only Cindy Church video. Stars also making their debut in this video: Marc Jordan, Murray McLauchlan. Interestingly, Cincotti's follow-up, On the Moon, finds him exploring funk and soft rock balladry. Similar to his British contemporary Jamie Cullum, Cincotti ...

Lunch At Allen's video
$17.09 2005 studio album that reflects the multi-national character of the group; the songs are not all sung in English, but drift between Spanish, English and Italian. However they are worded, all use the emotional Esperanto of love. The group's debut album, IL Divo hit the #1 slot on both Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.com after a breakout career-defining appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" (April 5, 2005) where the quartet performed its interpretation of Toni Braxton's `Unbreak My Heart (`Regressa A Mi'). Highlights on Ancora include 'Isabel' a duet with Celine Dion and IL Divo's cover of Mariah Carey's 'Hero'. Two of the tracks on this CD `O Holy Night' and `Ave ...
