Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack Spanish; Director's Comments Sometimes it takes three movies to really kill an alien. In this grim third installment of the ALIEN films, Lt. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) crash lands on a prison planet and soon discovers an alien is aboard her craft. Mutilated bodies pile up, but this time she has no weapons to fight the marauding creature. Once again her toughness is tested to the max, in a bleaker episode than the previous two in the series. The film is directed with visual flair by David Fincher (SEVEN, FIGHT CLUB). David Fincher's feature debut, ALIEN 3, picks up almost directly after the events in ALIENS, finding Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) frozen in suspended animation as her ship crashes on Fiorina 161, a prison planet. When awakened by the prison's staff, she discovers that she is the sole survivor of her crew. Trapped on a barren planet with convicts and no weapons of any kind, Ripley soon realizes that an alien was also on the ship and has survived. As the savage creature begins to massacre inmates, Ripley bands together with the remaining prisoners and attempts to destroy it by wits alone.
Filmed at a time when big guns and high technology dominated the screen, ALIEN 3 deserves commendation for its unique premise--battling a vicious alien creature with no weapons and almost no resources whatsoever. This scenario makes for an unusual and intriguing science fiction thriller that is also notable for Fincher's bleak industrial visuals; the film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Visual Effects. Theatrical release: May 22, 1992.
Filmed in England.
ALIEN 3 was director David Fincher's first feature film. He had previously directed music videos.
Alien 3 Reviews: "...The effect of Weaver's shorn locks is eerily sensual....It's one of the rare sequels that truly measures up. It brings this series to a fitting shiver..."

Alien 3 Movie Review Average Rating: (2 out of 5 stars) Why does everybody hate this movie? Yes I agree that it is not the best Alien movie, but it was not awfull!!! The acting was great and the special effects for that time were brilliant. Loads more blood and guts than the first two. One great ending... This movie is a perfect example of how to ruin a good series Okay I enjoyed the first two Alien movies. They were amazing, masterpieces hell I could go on all day but Alien 3 is a perfect example of how to ruin a good movie series. This movie is such a pointless sequel and I can understand why the director David Fincher has dissowned it since the production wrapped. If you enjoyed the first two Alien films like I did you'll be sure doing yourself a favour and avoid it. If you pass it in the video store ignore it and go and find something worth your time. If you find it at a cheap price in a store avoid it. If it is given to you burn it. You'll be doing yourself a gigantic favour if you don't watch this movie believe me. Disappointing My suggestion is to immerse yourself in the satisfaction of having seen the first two movies and just pretend that no others were made. There's just nothing about this movie that seems to work. Even the alien, which was incubated in a dog and made more insectile for this version seems far less malevolent than in the first two movies. It's dead weight. Submitted by brianp (Fremont, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 1 found this helpful.
Not worth the kill... The third chapter just seemed to dull for me. It almost feels as if director David Fincher was in a hurry to end the saga of Ellen Ripley. One alien, no weapons and the story taking place at a prison just seems a bit ridiculous. If your a true fan of the series, you might want to imagine that the story truly ended with Aliens. $14.45 Horror author Anne Rice penned the screenplay for this full-blooded adaptation of her novel, which chronicles the life of 18th-century nobleman Louis (Brad Pitt) after he is bitten by powerful, charismatic vampire Lestat (Tom Cruise). Though enthralled with the undead lifestyle at first, Louis is unable to warm up to killing humans and grows despondent. To comfort Louis, Lestat creates another vampire (Kirsten Dunst in a star-making peformance), a young girl who from then on cannot age. Antonio Banderas appears as Armand, a 400-year-old vampire, and Christian Slater plays the radio producer who interviews the remorseful Louis.

$7.09 A decade after Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) destroyed the original Terminator, a second unstoppable killing machine (Arnold Schwarzenegger) arrives from the post-apocalyptic year 2029. But this time his mission is to stop an even deadlier Terminator, the T-1000 (Robert Patrick), made entirely of shape-shifting liquid metal and determined to kill young John Connor (Edward Furlong), the future leader of the human resistance. Sarah, John, and the Terminator counter by going after the scientist responsible for developing Skynet, the computer system fated to destroy humanity, leading to an explosive and spectacular clash with the fate of humanity in the balance. Whereas James Cameron's original THE TERMINATOR was a low-budget marvel of efficiency and speed, TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY is an action-packed blockbuster with some of the most amazing stunts ever filmed and ground-breaking, Academy Award-winning special effects. Star Schwarzenegger was paid in the form of a $15 million dollar jet to revisit his most famous role as the Terminator, this time made kinder and gentler against the silent, relentless T-1000. One of the most popular films of the 1990s, James Cameron's action masterpiece is both a thoughtful look at violence in human nature and an exciting, nonstop thrill ride.

$15.59 Director Ridley Scott's breakthough film, an immensely successful blend of horror and science fiction, is a classic in both genres and spawned a host of sequels and imitators. Starring Sigourney Weaver as warrant officer Ellen Ripley, ALIEN focuses on the crew of the space cargo ship Nostromo, which lands on a moribund planet in response to a faint SOS. Inside a crashed ship, the crew members come upon strange pods, one of which spews forth a repellently fleshy insectile creature that locks on to the face of the unlucky Kane (John Hurt). Despite Ripley's advice, science officer Ash (Ian Holm) allows Kane to return to the ship, where the creature finally releases its grip. Soon, however, in one of the film's most infamous scenes, one of its offspring explodes horribly from Kane's stomach and scurries away. Dallas (Tom Skerritt), the vessel's captain, leads the others in a search for the rapidly growing, acid-dripping alien before it can cut them down--one by one.

$13.55 Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), the sole survivor from the original ALIEN, is awakened after 57 years of drifting through space, her stories disbelieved by Company executives who tell her that the alien's planet is now inhabited and colonized. When contact is suddenly lost with the colonists, Ripley returns to the planet with a squad of marines, an android (Lance Henriksen), and a Company executive (Paul Reiser) with a mission of his own. Once on the planet, no survivors can be found except for Newt, a little girl who awakens motherly instincts in Ripley just in time for the acid-blooded aliens to attack in what quickly becomes a one-sided battle for sheer survival. Considered by many to be the best of the series, ALIENS is a fast-paced, high-intensity thrill ride that set a new standard for action films ...

Alien 3 review
$16.09 A STAR IS BORN was conceived as a comeback vehicle for Judy Garland, who gives a fascinating and heartrending performance in perhaps the finest work of her career. This film was director George Cukor's first musical and first color picture; the tale of a doomed Hollywood couple, it was a remake of the 1937 William Wellman movie with Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. Garland plays young singer Esther, who saves Norman Maine (James Mason), a famous star, from making a fool of ...
