Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack Spanish; Director's Comments Director Gary Fleder (THINGS TO DO IN DENVER WHEN YOU'RE DEAD, KISS THE GIRLS) tackles best-selling novelist John Grisham's tale of jury manipulation in RUNAWAY JURY. Jury consultant Rankin Fitch (Gene Hackman) can spin any jury in favor of his client. At least he always could before. But his latest job may turn out to be his most challenging. As an explosive civil case goes to trial in New Orleans, Fitch thinks he has arranged for the perfect jury and has the verdict sealed in favor of his client, a gun manufacturer. Soon, however, he starts receiving phone calls from the mysterious Marlee (Rachel Weisz), who claims that she can turn the jury any way she wants and--for a price--she'll spin it his way. Meanwhile, Marlee is making the same offer to the plaintiff's lawyer, Wendell Rohr (Dustin Hoffman), a Southern gentleman who always plays by the rules. Marlee's insider is Juror #9, Nick Easter (John Cusack), who is working with her to influence his fellow jurors. Are these two just grifters in it for the money, or do they have another agenda? The audience is kept guessing until the very end. Runaway Jury Movie Review Average Rating: (3.3 out of 5 stars) An engaging ride If you are objectively minded, this is a cleverly written and well executed tale. It will probably touch a nerve or two, but it is good drama. (If you are a card-carrying member of the NRA, you might want to skip this one.) Good script, good actors, good acting. All movies should be at least as good as this. Submitted by Richard (Parker, CO) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Was Director Gary Fielder Pinch Hitting for Michael Moore? When America wants to see an attack on the United States Constitution and our Bill of Rights we have Ted Kennedy, Diane Feinstein, and the rest of the gun control lobby who, despite their oath of office, make a full time career of doing exactly that. The film Runaway Jury politically exploits and completely corrupts a truly enthralling book under shamefully self-serving pretenses.
Despite phenomenal efforts of big name stars, I’ll not disgrace them by mentioning their names, determined to turn out a winning product; I believe they will each come to regret ever having been a part of this glaring prostitution and flagrant abuse of all cinematic license. Its truly sad that acting of the highest caliber, (easily a 5 (for all members of this phenomenal cast)), plus perceptive and even creative insight into the mechanics of jury manipulation (a 4), all brilliantly filmed and skillfully edited (another 5), must suffer from such selfishly motivated flagrant twisting of the original story (a minus 6) for such a low over all film score of 2. The category for this film, like Bowling for Columbine and Ferenheit 911, should be docu-lies.
No amount of bonus material, and there is lots of it, can make up for this unneeded, unwanted, and unwelcome, wholesale packaging of Hollywood elitists’ political misgivings.
If you’ve already spent your hard-earned cash on this one - don’t fret. When your copy of the dvd demonstrates loading and/or menu selection problems (like mine did), return it and get your money back. Then - if you want the real story read John Grisham’s book, but if you want to watch great courtroom drama, great acting, and class act directing; I highly recommend A Few Good Men.

Enjoyable. A nice little Court Room drama from the 'Court Room Drama' John Grisham. I'm writing this review having not read the book, so I can't compare it. But, i enjoyed the film as a film. All cast were excellent, especially Hackman and Hoffman, who have a great on screen chemistry. Good film, worth getting if you are a fan of Court Room dramas. Runaway Jury review
$23.45 Co-helmed by WALL-E director Andrew Stanton, FINDING NEMO follows Marlin (voiced by Albert Brooks), an overprotective clown fish father, as he desperately searches the farthest reaches of the sea for his missing son Nemo. Marlin's journey leads him beyond the Great Barrier Reef into deeper and darker waters, where he meets Dory (Ellen DeGeneres), a forgetful yet optimistic blue tang, and a number of not-so-friendly--and often very hungry--aquatic creatures. Meanwhile, little Nemo finds himself in a dentist's fish tank in Syndey, Australia, along with other underwater captives, including Gill (Willem Dafoe), the group's scarred Moorish idol leader. As Nemo works with his new friends on a plan to escape their tank, Marlin and Dory swim closer, but they'll need more than just fins to get into the dentist's office.
