Closed Captioned; Soundtrack English; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re When an aviator's plane crashes in the desert, he finds only one person to keep him company: a seemingly lost little boy. Gradually the pilot realizes that the child has extraordinary powers of perception and wisdom...and that this meeting will change his life forever.... Based on the children's fantasy by Antoine de Saint-Exupèry and embraced by the soaring music of Lerner and Loewe, the musical story of a pilot's crash in the Sahara Desert and his encounter with a strange little boy receives the glowing attention to detail, color, and charm that a film adaptation of such a beloved book deserves. As the downed pilot listens to the little boy's story of his travels to distant planets and the strange people and animals he encounters, the airman realizes that the boy's wisdom and perception are going to change how he himself sees the world.
Well known for his richly voiced narration, supporting-role TV and movie appearances, and powerful leads in Broadway plays, Richard Kiley stars as the pilot whose world is overturned physically by the crash of his plane and philosophically by his encounter with the prince from another planet. The Little Prince himself (Steven Warner) made only this one feature film. And although Lerner, Loewe, and Donen all created thriving film-musical careers, THE LITTLE PRINCE and ROYAL WEDDING were the only musicals on which Lerner and Donen ever collaborated. Richard Kiley does the narration for the short film on dinosaur DNA in JURASSIC PARK, and the park's owner refers to the coup proudly, saying, "Spared no expense."
This is the only Steven Warner video. Stars also making their debut in this video: Donna McKechnie. Little Prince Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) is this in english? I did not know it was in french? do you have a english one? Submitted by jazzysiberians (Unites States of America) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Still a favorite I took my son and daughter to see this movie, as part of a children's summer movie festival,in the summer of 1980. It was their favorite movie, and still is. My son, age 28, is taking me to see the play, as a Christmas present. It has a lot of hidden meaning, and Richard Kiley's singing is wonderful. Tres Bien! I had to read the story in high school for French class. This movie is good and I really enjoyed it, but there are a few small parts of the book that were left out that I believe should have been included. I loved the music and coreography. It is a wonderful film and that little boy is so cute! Submitted by princess (Madison,IN) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Brillient I saw this film back in the 80s & lent it to friends, unfortunatly I never had it back.I cannot wait to get another copy to show my grandchildren.
It was a beautiful film. Submitted by PAULINE (NANTYGLO WALES UK) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Musical? Comedy?.... I just watched this tonight for the first time. The music was beautiful as I fully expected from Lerner and Lowe...however..some of the lyrics were just plain....dorky, stupid, weird etc.
The dance sequence of the snake was superb...as was the one of I've never met a rose and the scenes with Wildman in them... but one of the music numbers seemed like it would Never end!!
I was appalled at the message kids would receive today in viewing this film..when the young prince seeks to be poisoned by the snake so he can return home...(suicide)......
The innocence and charm of both the prince and the pilot were endearing as they both searched for the meaning of life for them. It also had a lot of funny things in it..but it's not one I would watch over and over again. Submitted by a reviewer (Woodbridge,Va) Was This Review Helpful? $9.69 Based on a story by STAR WARS creator George Lucas, WILLOW is director Ron Howard's fantasy world of medieval adventure. WILLOW stars Val Kilmer as Madmartigan, a swashbuckling warrior, and Warwick Davis as the title character. In a mythical kingdom, the evil sorceress Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh) plots to kill all infants so that the newborn princess, Elora, will never take over the throne. But a midwife sets the baby adrift in a river, and she is rescued by Willow, a farmer in Nelwyn, a peaceful village of trolls, fairies, and little folk. Willow and Madmartigan begin a quest to deliver the baby from evil while being chased by Queen Bavmorda's daughter, Sorsha (Joanne Whalley), sent to bring the baby back to Nockmaar. Director Howard benefited from his affiliation with George Lucas on the film--Lucas's company, Industrial Light and Magic, contributed the Oscar-nominated special effects. Lucas, the executive producer of WILLOW, went on to create a series of books based on the world of WILLOW, ...

$5.79 This jarring, paranoia-inflected tale offers a gruesome meditation on the harrowing life of a murder suspect. Sean Veil's (Lee Evans) tenuous hold on reality is let slip when he becomes obsessed with documenting his life. A loner who would be hard pressed to provide an alibi for any task he carried out, Veil straps cameras all around his person in order to provide any evidence the police may need regarding his activities. As the police hunt hots up, and the finger of fate seems to indicate that Veil is the strongest suspect in the case, he slips further into insanity. The situation gets markedly worse when one of his fastidiously cataloged video tapes appears to go missing. Director John Simpson pulls a thoroughly convincing performance from Evans in this harrowing portrait of a life slowly slipping off the rails, creating a pulse-pounding finale to FREEZE FRAME that is also a damning indictment of the way technology is consuming ...
