5 stars BEAUTIFUL PHRASING
This is my first Cheryl Bentyne solo album. In the past, Cheryl’s voice has provided great harmonic sounds to the Manhattan Transfer and New Deal. Her Talk of the Town CD is outstanding in musicianship, songs, arrangements, and studio engineering. This is an all round 5 star performance. Importantly, her ability to impeccably phrase slow ballads is most enjoyable. In particular, “You’d Will Be Nice To Come Home To” and “Everything Happens To Me”. The last track, “Still Good Friends” is an interesting piano duet with Carey Allen.
