The second volume of the Collectables label's Best of Pat Benatar series is as spotty as the first, but does include "Fire and Ice," "Invincible," and "Love Is a Battlefield." ~ James Christopher Monger
The second volume of the Collectables label's Best of Pat Benatar series is as spotty as the first. If the compilers had just put "Fire and Ice," "Invincible," and "Love Is a Battlefield" on the first volume -- switching out "Anxiety (Get Nervous)," "One Love," and "Treat Me Right" -- then casual fans would have had everything they needed. Breaking the two up into a couple of scant, ten-song best-ofs is just plain greedy. Again, listeners looking for the real deal should pick up 2005's Greatest Hits Capitol compilation. ~ James Christopher Monger

Pat Benatar is an amazing artist who deserves much better than this cheaply made 10-track cd compilation. Buy her 'Greatest Hits' cd that was released in 2005. It has ALL the hits one one cd!

Judas Priest's METALOGY, an impressive four-CD behemoth of a box set that also includes a bonus DVD, proved a fitting tribute to a band celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2004. Kudos to the creative team whose use of studded trim and faux leather texture in the packaging is fitting for a group whose visual legacy is inextricably linked to their own S&M/biker apparel. As impressive as the outside of this package is, the music contained within is more important, especially when you consider that this Birmingham outfit laid down many of heavy metal's stylistic touchstones.
