The popular club duo's 2003 release; includes "Blue Harbour" and "Not Stupid." 2003, German import.
It's the result of a year’s worth of work, of blood, sweat and tears, sleepless nights, doubts and highs and lows. But the two strong willed guys (Stefano Baldetti and Luigi Carotenuto) never gave up. Their dream hascome true and with the help of a few trusted musician friends, ‘Vision’ has been born. Their journey from old school to new has come to its conclusion. Their music is more mature, a fusion of genres that arrive at new sound of Downtempo Electronic and Deep House Jazzy. "Vision" the musical transposition of far away memories, intense feeling and an odyssey of vibe, a virtual world were you can but lose yourself, a deep feeling not easily forgotten. Vision
$8.78 Melanie Fiona's debut single, "Give It to Me Right," was a perfect 2009 pop-R&B recording. The single coupled a timeless classic (the Zombies' "Time of the Season") with roof-raising vocals and infectious pop hooks that stuck like peanut butter. Fiona's single was perfect, albeit a touch formulaic. Because of this, it's no surprise that a large chunk of her debut album, THE BRIDGE, is much of the same. Like any good 2009 pop-soul recording, the album offers influences from decades ...

| | 50 Cent Before I Self-Destruct CDs (2007) With DVD
Vision
$11.19 Released without the usual flurry of hype, Before I Self Destruct fulfills 50 Cent's contractual obligation to the Interscope label. It also doubles as a throwback album, returning the rapper to the hunger and hatred of his early mixtapes while skillfully recasting him as a wannabe upstart. That is, for the most part. The four radio-friendly bedroom numbers that conclude the album are out of place but fairly good to dime-piece beautiful, with the best being the Ne-Yo showcase "Baby by Me" ("Have a baby by me, baby/Be a millionaire"). As pleasing as these final numbers are, if you leave the room after the macho bruiser "I Got Swag" ("I'm infinitely special/Girl the Lord is gonna bless you/If you do what I tell you to do"), you'll return to a confusingly different album, one that's as glamorous but less vital. The monstrous run of tracks that leads up to this flash and polish can be summed up by 50's "This ain't Tha Carter/It's Sparta!," a witty, deceptive, and brutish line barked over a prime Dr. Dre beat during the great "Death to My Enemies." On the cut, the producer sounds like he's been digging on RZA, but the tension and dark-night feel he has created for "Psycho" is easily identifiable as Dre. Add an especially rapid ...

Vision
$13.05 SLIDIN'...SOME SLIDE is a compilation of blues slide guitar players.
Uneven slide guitar collection showcasing a range of artists from Muddy Waters to Sonny Landreth. ~ Bill Dahl
Rounder's recent anthology of vintage and modern slide guitar playing is neither a disposable batch of recent hits nor merely a showcase for guitar freaks; it is a wonderful collection documenting the way bottleneck and slide styles have evolved. The sampler contains classics from Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Earl Hooker, J.B. Hutto, Hop Wilson and Hound Dog Taylor that are either transcendent or delightful. They have ...
| | Dana Cunningham Dancing At The Gate CD (2001)
Vision
$20.25 "One of the finest debuts of this or any year." - Steve Ryals, Fresh Tracks "A refreshing restorative - an hours retreat from the sharp edges of life. Quiet music that encourages quiet contemplation... an almost guaranteed doorway to an inner peace... priceless." - Wes Phillips, music critic for Stereophile and onhifi.com"I listen to it each night; it draws me to a more centering and real place. I will put it with Chopin's 'The Nocturns,' Satie's 'Trois Gymnopedies,' and George Winston's 'Plains.' - Michael J. BrownThis audiophile-quality album contains 12 original compositions that lead the listener through nearly an hour of serene yet evocative music. In the words of the artist,"My intention is toward cultivating a greater sense of the present moment, and inviting the listener to open more fully to his or her own experience."FROM THE CD INSERT: "Dancing at the Gate is a musical offering which comes from this experience we call life - exhuberance, sadness, joy, anticipation, deep longing, love. As the poet Rumi says,'This being human is a guest house, every morning a new arrival... treat each guest honorably... be grateful for whoever comes, for each has been sent as a guide from God.'It has become clear to me over the years that whatever our experience is in the present moment, no matter how beautiful ...
| | Michael J Sheehy No Longer My Concern CD (2002)
Vision
$22.09 True to form, Michael J. Sheehy's third solo album isn't a particularly happy affair. If, after Sweet Blue Gene and Ill Gotten Gains, it seemed that things couldn't possibly get any worse for the self-proclaimed "short, bald fella," No Longer My Concern proves otherwise. Here, he continues down a murky, confessional path, spinning tales of excessive boozing, sordid sex, self-loathing, and all-consuming ennui. As with Sheehy's previous records, stripped-down rock & roll, swamp blues, and some deceptively beautiful ballads provide a soundtrack to the dark night of his tortured soul. This is indeed black mood music and, by Sheehy's own admission, these songs are often personal, but, as usual, his self-deprecating humor and wicked sense of irony save them from becoming maudlin. With its cool, finger-snapping rockabilly beat and sassy female backing vocals, "Donkey ...
