Ultimate Collection CD music Recorded between November 1964 and June 1982. Ultimate Collection music CDs Includes liner notes by Matt Kent and Andy Neill. When it comes to a ground-breaking, iconic band like the Who, dubbing an anthology THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION is no small claim. Ultimate Collection songs The kicker here is that it happens to be the truth. Ultimate Collection album Without venturing into the realm of the box set, there's never been such a definitive batch of Who tunes all under one roof before. Ultimate Collection CD music Virtually all the bases are covered here, from such attitude-laden mid-'60s mod anthems as "My Generation" and "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere" to the conceptual expansiveness of TOMMY-era tunes ("I'm Free," "See Me Feel Me"). We get the full-on long-haired, bare-chested glory of the early '70s ("Won't Get Fooled Again") as well as the tapered, synth-flecked smartness of the early '80s ("Eminence Front," "You Better You Bet." For someone looking for an entry point into the work of this larger-than-life group, or just somebody who wants a great all-purpose who disc, THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION is truly a case of truth in advertising. Ultimate Collection CD music is a 2-disc set with 37 songs. ...See Full Description

| Excellent Tunes!! Great CD for the ones who enjoy GREAT music By a reviewer (Lake Placid , Florida) This review is for a different format. |
| Japanese pressings are the best! I know you spend ALOT MORE when you buy these discs, and my friends think I'm certifably insane for doing so, but until you've delved into the world known as true high-end audio, you really don't know (maybe don't care, thank you) about the quality of what you listen to. That's too bad because when you get better sound you'll listen to the music longer and get more enjoyment out of it. How many times have you gone to your cd collection and noticed, maybe, hundreds of discs go unplayed for years? Buy better sounding recordings: it will help, somewhat. | Well, it's About Time....! Okay,so the rule of thumb with "Greatest Hits" packages is that about half of it is really great stuff and the other half makes you wonder what the record company guys were on when they assembled it. And then you have to wonder what happened to all the other great stuff they left off. Well, it did NOT happen this time. Every song on this TRUE "ultimate Collection" is a winner. Die-hard fans may find one or two vital songs missing ("The Relay", "We're Not Gonna Take it"), but hey, it's not a perfect world. Just look at all the gems that are included here! Think of it as the poor man's boxed set. By a reviewer (Eugene, OR, USA) This review is for a different format. |
| Great retrospective collection As usual, Japanese releases are of the highest quality and this is no exception. 37 classic "Oo" tracks. Unfortunately CD Universe listed this 2-disc set as coming with the bonus disc. When it arrived, suprise - no bonus disc. So if you're expecting a bonus disc with this set look elsewhere.
