Closed Captioned; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re DUMMY is a family sitcom that ranks with memorable comic favorites like SIXTEEN CANDLES. Its charismatic lead, Steven (Adrien Brody), is an aspiring ventriloquist and total nerd who narrates the film in a self-deprecating deadpan voice-over. Though Steven is an adult with a job and his own life, he still lives at home with his wacky parents, who feed him and nag him just as they would a teenage kid. His hyperemotional sister (Illeana Douglas), a successful wedding planner, also lives at home. Steven must deal with threatening visits from her ex-fiancé in hilarious stalking scenes that are reminiscent of BETTER OFF DEAD. Meanwhile, Steven is falling in love with his career counselor (Vera Farmiga), a quiet woman who simply cannot understand Steven's bizarre, introverted personality. When Steven's best friend Fangora (Milla Jovovich), a rebellious wannabe punk rocker, tries to offer him some romantic advice, things only get worse. A poignant script, wildly funny characters, and the perfect suburban setting all combine to make Greg Pritikin's DUMMY a comic gem.
This film screened at the SXSW 2003 film festival in Austin, Texas. Dummy Reviews: "...A romantic comedy of considerable charm and humor....DUMMY is a modest movie with no shortage of pleasurable pluses..."

Pretty Good This movie is pretty damn good. I rented it at random just because Milla Jovovich was in it. I was pleasantly surprised. It is a very funny movie much in the style of Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore. However, a whole lot more light-hearted. Just a movie about a loser's life basically. You'll like it. a funnny kind of mellow; a subtle kind of funny Pretty smart, funny, dialogue. If you're into slapsticks, this might not be for you, but if you appreciate and enjoy well played characters, you'll laugh. Mila Jovovich's character is a MANIAC! Her band rehearsals are a nice touch to her character. Illiana Douglas' role of the sister and her paranoid exchanges with her mom and dad and brother are also a highlight. Director Michael Schultz follows up his critically acclaimed and commercially successful COOLEY HIGH with this hilarious day-in-the-life tale set in modern day Los Angeles. At Sully Boyar's car wash, a juvenile, motley crew of city dwellers "work their fingers to the bone" waiting on the eccentric and sometimes haughty clientele. Throughout the day, the young men find time to indulge in personal pursuits: one fellow fantasizes about the pretty waitress working at a local restaurant, a militant preaches politics, while more disgruntled workers find a way to justify their laziness. As the ...

$9.69 Picking up where NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD left off, and still offering no explanation of why the dead are walking the earth, DAWN OF THE DEAD plunges headlong into one of the most violent and original horror films ever made. After securing an apartment building overcome with flesh-eating zombies, two Philadelphia area SWAT team members, Peter (Ken Foree) and Roger (Scott Reiniger), flee to a television station, where they escape in the station's helicopter with Francine (Gaylen Ross) and Stephen (David Emge), two station employees. Seeking refuge from the zombies and the ensuing hysteria, they land on top of a Pittsburgh area shopping mall, despite the fact that the undead seem to be flocking there. | | Puppets Who Kill - The Complete Second Season DVD (2005)
Dummy review
$13.59 For audiences who like puppets but eschew those of the more saccharine variety, this Comedy Central hit provides a view into the underbelly of the puppet world. Unfolding in a halfway house for criminal puppets, the four violent, disturbed, and generally unlikable puppets who live there spend their time trying to win over their bumbling case worker, Dan Barlow, while still getting up to plenty of mischief. Most of the adventures enjoyed by Buttons, Bill, Cuddle, and Rocko result in violence and mayhem. In the second season, Bill gets depressed because Dan has disallowed any murder, while Dan and Buttons's Ouija board-dabbling results in a demonic possession, which compels Buttons to use Dan for a virgin sacrifice. These and other wacky antics are in store with the charming PUPPETS WHO KILL.

| | Fort Apache DVD (1948) Full Frame; Subtitled; Special Edition

$7.89 The first film of John Ford's celebrated Cavalry Trilogy, FORT APACHE mirrors the effects of the director's wartime experience on his attitude toward military command. Lt. Col. Owen Thursday (Henry Fonda), a West Point-trained Civil War veteran, is sent to command the remote Arizona outpost of Fort Apache. An arrogant, by-the-book officer, he's annoyed at having drawn such an ignominious assignment. Despite the warnings of veteran Indian-fighter Capt. Kirby York (John Wayne), he dismisses the notion that a group of savages could possibly be of concern to one possessing his military prowess. After Thursday's daughter, Philadelphia (Shirley Temple), and young Lt. Michael O'Rourke (Ward Bond) find the bodies of some mutilated soldiers, it's discovered that Indian agent Silas Meacham (Grant Withers) has been stirring the Apaches ...
