Space Camp Movie Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) Superior Film* This was a great movie. I highly reccomend this to anyone looking for a great movie! TWO THUMBS UP! Submitted by Mia (New Jersey) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Great Space Movie, Good Story and Acting I saw this movie when I was really young and its separate from any other space movie I have seen. It isn't a futuristic Sci-fi movie. It's about a group of NASA Summer campers who accidently get sent into space. They have to use their training and each other to get home alive. It's a great family movie and there is some good comedy in it. Plus it has a good actors like Lea Thompson and Tom Skerritt. Submitted by natedoggg21 (Sykesville, MD, 21784) Was This Review Helpful? $5.75 Kelsey Grammar plays a wayward Navy officer, Tom Dodge, who is notorious throughout the Navy for having responded to a close call involving a Russian submarine by getting drunk and tattooing "welcome aboard" on an unmentionable appendage. He gets assigned by Admiral Winslow (Rip Torn) to command his own submarine; unfortunately, this sub is a rusting 1958 diesel model that the Navy wants to engage in war games to find out if it could inflict any damage. The assumption is, this sub is comparable to those the Russians are selling to renegade Iraqi and Libyan commanders, who might use them on suicide missions against the US.
Once on board, we meet the cast of quirky characters who will ...

$6.89 When a laser-armed Department of Defense robot named Number 5 gets zapped by a lightning bolt, he "malfunctions" and starts spouting peace slogans and developing a human-like consciousness. Naturally, the newly pacifist machine wants out of the military and escapes. As a frantic search for the creature begins, Number 5 settles down in his new home, with a gentle young woman named Stephanie (Ally Sheedy), who has every intention of holding on to her find, teaching Number 5 about popular culture and other mysteries of life. Thoroughly convinced that the robot is alive, she develops a strong bond with the creature. In order to prevent his capture by the military--who view Number 5 as an armed-and-dangerous weapon--the pair must convince his inventor, a reclusive scientist named Newton Crosby (Steve Guttenberg), that he is truly alive and more than just a metal machine. The highly innovative robot created for director John Badham's film brings to mind other lovable science fiction icons such as E.T. and R2D2 from STAR WARS.
Something wonderful has happened--Number Five is alive! Steve Guttenberg and Ally Sheedy co-star in this high tech comedy adventure about Number ...
