On The Beach album for sale Product Description
On The Beach album for sale by Neil Young was released Jan 01, 2007 on the Reprise label. After working his way through loss and chaos on the brilliant TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT (recorded in 1973, but not released until 1975), Neil Young deftly exorcised any lingering demons with 1974's ON THE BEACH. The album opens with the saunter of the aptly titled "Walk On," followed by the utterly gorgeous, Wurlitzer-tinged "See the Sky about to Rain." The set also features a trio of scathing songs--"Revolution Blues," "Vampire Blues," and "Ambulance Blues"--that address issues important to Young, both social and personal. On The Beach CD music contains a single disc with 8 songs. ...See Full Description

| great album Someone have said that this Neil masterpiece is the most desperate music work of the seventies: I'm not agree with this opinion (for me there are other more dark and desperate cd: Peter Hammill's "The silent corner and the empty stage" for example). But this work is very beautiful, melodic (see the sky about to rain) and sometimes happy (walk on). By wahnfried.fa (ITALIA) This review is for a different format. |
| 2nd Part of Doom Trilogy Finally Released Well, it sure was about time that this, one of Neil's best albums, made it onto the CD format. Great from "Walk On" through the chilling "Ambulance Blues" this is a classic 1970's Neil Young solo album. Guest musicians abound. This is a must have. Fini. | Good, but not....Great One of Neil Young's best album, but I was disappointed to find out, upon delivery, that this DVD-A is "Enhanced Stereo" - not 5.1 Surround. By dgcaldwell (Toronto, ON, CAN) This review is for a different format. |
| one of his 5 best excellent album with ambulance blues the pick and no songs making up the numbers By cyclonegarry (townsville australia) This review is for a different format. |
| Time"On The Beach" With A Father and Son "Awesome". "On The Beach,Vampire Blues and Revolution Blues are by far the three best." "Especially Vampire Blues". The words of someone in their fifties whose listened to Neil since the begining? No, these are quotes from the message left me by my soon to be 22 year old, musician, son. Volumes can be said about music and lyrics first released in 1974 that a father and son can share and enjoy 30 years later. Songs so good not only in music but also in lyric that they span the generation gap. Yes, he's figured out that the statements being made musically back then is still going on today. Buy it, sit down and enjoy. We are. By Bassmagnum (Long Beach, Calif. USA) This review is for a different format. |
