WWE Originals features the sports entertainment behemoth's most popular personalities performing original music tailored to their particular quirks and characteristics. Beginning with an amusing skit featuring indefatigable hard ass Stone Cold Steve Austin (which continues throughout the album), Originals also features Trish Stratus -- 2003 "WWE Babe of the Year" -- cooing her way through the soft-focus piano pop of "I Just Want You," and D-Von and Bubba Ray Dudley -- known to millions as the tag-team duo Dudley Boyz -- doubling up on the sneering rap-rock rumble of "We've Had Enough." Trish isn't the only "WWE Diva" to step into the recording ring. It turns out Lita's tantalizingly tough exterior just masks the need for a little TLC, and turnbuckle bombshell Stacy Keibler is a club kid at heart. Elsewhere, John Cena's "Basic Thugonomics" is exactly what it sounds like, and Rey Mysterio celebrates his heritage in "Crossing Borders." WWE Originals' most unlikely frontman is probably ex-Headshrinker and current Phat Man Rikishi. Reinventing his enormous self as a slow-jam crooner for the, ahem, cheeky "Put a Little A** on It," the keeper of "the stink face" finishing move emulates Rosey "It's All Right to Cry" Grier in the '70s classic Free to Be...You and Me. For the most part, the wrestlers and divas appearing let their larger-than-life personas carry them. This is fortunate, for as the tepid dance-pop of Keibler's "Why Can't We Just Dance" or Kurt Angle's strange hip-hop ditty "I Don't Suck (Really)" (featuring the clunking rhyme "Anything you can do I can do better/Even when I rap/I rap more better") prove, they often can't carry a tune. Nevertheless, the WWE's rabid fan base should eat Originals up. [Initial pressings included a bonus DVD with behind-the-scenes recording session footage.] ~ Johnny Loftus
To some, an album of pop songs sung by professional wrestlers may seem like an even worse idea than Magic Johnson hosting a late-night talk show. Any real Wrestlemania fan, however, knows that these properly pumped bruisers and their coiffed and curvy counterparts are as much entertainers as they are athletes.
On WWE ORIGINALS, each wrestler performs a song appropriate to his or her image and talents. In most cases, the results are not only competent; they're downright enjoyable. Rey Mysterio delivers a Latin hip-hop number that recalls the raps of Cypress Hill's B-Real, while Booker T's effort is pure West Coast G-Funk, served up in a booming, Chuck D-style baritone. On the pop/rock side of the fence, the listener is treated to Lita slurring her way through a Runaways-esque, attitude-filled bubble-gum rocker, while Trish Stratus croons a piano-based pop confection that wouldn't sound out of place on a Jewel album. In addition, the disc features genuinely funny Stone Cold Steve Austin comedy bits that follow his interaction with a hapless recording engineer. With a refreshing lack of pretense, WWE ORIGINALS succeeds for the same reason the WWE always has: It's loads of fun.

I just received my wwe originals cd in the mail today and I LOVE it. John Cena's song was awesome and so was Eddie and Chavo Guerrero's, but my absolute fave was Rey Mysterio's Crossing Borders, the song is off the hook and Rey did an excellent job, his mic skills are amazing. Thanks cd universe for this cd, I had been looking all over for it and was so happy to finally get it!

G.O.A.T.: The Greatest Of All Time
L L Cool J G.O.A.T.: The Greatest Of All Time CD  (2000)

WWE Originals
CD $10.59  4.5 stars Audio Samples
Contains a hidden track after "Ill Bomb."
Personnel includes: LL Cool J, Kelly Price, Method Man, Redman, DMX, Prodigy, Snoop, Jayo Felony, Xzibit, Ja Rule, Amil, Carl Thomas, Tiki Diamond, Candice Love.
Producers include: James "Bimmy" Antney, Rockwilder, Vada Nobles, DJ Scratch, Adam F.
Recorded at The Hit Factory and Mirror Image Studios, New York, New York.
With his first release in the mid-'80s, LL Cool J hit the rap scene with a unique sense for freestyle lyrics. He kept it up over the years with hits like "I'm That Type of Guy," "Going Back to Cali," and "Mama Said Knock You Out." As artists age, there seems to be a natural progression in the production and lyrics that take place. With acts like Tribe Called Quest we watched as Q-tip went from rapping about young ladies with long legs and long hair to wanting a woman with a more spiritual flair -- to quote the man loosely. Despite marriage and children, this hasn't happened with L.L., in fact it's the same lyrics, just with a different album cover. In addition, the raps of urban ills from a man who boasts publicly about his diamonds, riches, and furs (he often sports his fur coats in public during New York summer heat waves) are hard to believe. Once again, with the September 12, 2000 release of G.O.A.T. Featuring James T. Smith, L.L. Cool J disappoints.
The first single off the album, "Imagine That," puts L.L. in a school setting where he's the teacher and he needs to teach his "naughty" student a couple bad things. The theme of L.L. as ...

Solid Gold/Another Day Another Dollar EP
Gang Of Four Solid Gold/Another Day Another Dollar EP CD  (1981) (Import) United Kingdom

WWE Originals
CD $9.89  Top 500
Digitally remastered edition of the Gang Of Four's second album. They were one of the most challenging and impressive bands to emerge from the British punk scene, railing against organized tools of politics and power disguised as entertainment media. They wanted to point this out to people, wanting to make listeners think about the world around them. They did this in a style of their own with a semi-violent delivery used to grab the listener's attention...and boy did it work. The music on "Solid Gold" is almost an almighty row coupled with their thought provoking lyrics. This unlikely combination actually crafted tunes that are often catchy and danceable. This special reissue includes the tracks that were released in between this and their third studio album, the "Another Day Another Dollar" EP that includes the hit "To Hell With Poverty" and live versions of "Cheesburger" and "What We All Want". The New Wave at it's highest brilliance. Gang Of Four: Dave Allen, Hugo Burnham, Andy Gill, Jon King.
Producers include: Jimmy Douglass, Gang Of Four.
Includes liner notes by Page Hamilton.
Originally released seperately as an LP and and EP.
While not as revered as their signature album ENTERTAINMENT!, 1981's SOLID GOLD is a worthy addition to the Gang Of Four catalog. Also includes the previously rare five-track EP ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER DOLLAR.
