Hi! My name is Beth Poplin. I am a preacher’s daughter! I am the daughter of Doug and Anne Farmer, the sister to Mark and Jeff Farmer, the wife of Edward J. Poplin, the mother to Hunter and Summer Poplin, & the friend to many. But in my life, my dad has inspired me to fall in love with The One Who Created me! I took piano lessons as a little girl but since I was a tomboy I thought playing the piano was for sissies’ so I quit. When I was 12, I received a guitar for Christmas because that was a kool instrument to play. I began to teach myself how to play and would hang out with anybody who could teach me a lick or two. I even taught my peers everything I was learning! I thought that was awesome too! I love music! I can remember so vividly, when I was 18 years old, longing to sit down at the piano and just playing! I even remember crying, sitting there wanting to play! I said, “Lord, please! I want to give You this music locked-up inside of me! Help me play this piano!†It was as though The Holy Spirit began to show me how to play guitar chords on the piano!!!! I was so excited. Then the music began to flow! I wanted my music to be eternal. I wanted an audience of One. I was even offered an opportunity to go to Nashville, but felt at that time in my life that I just wanted The Lord as my audience. He began to use me in leading worship in prisons, and youth camps, and churches. I was called as worship leader to several churches over the years. There is no other place that I’d rather be than in His Presence. That is where I want to take others. This music came through many trials and heartaches, through suffering rejection and even pity parties. The title song was written in honor of my dad who truly showed me the love of the Father through his life and dedication to my mom and to us, his children. The cover of the Cd is how I picture myself in this life. Right smack-dab in the middle of His will. I trust Him to put into the lives of all who call upon His name the very Words that will give them life and cause them to love and trust Him as much as I do. I will say that the reason I made this Cd was because the Special Educational Teacher that I assist, Ms. Lynne Terry, heard my music. She made a way for me to record this Cd. My husband believed in me too. He made sure there were enough Cds to go around. I just wanted to get it to my friends and my family. But those people wanted to get it into the hands of anybody and everybody who would listen. I also know how short and how precious life is. If the Lord calls me home before His return, I wanted my children to have a piece of my heart to carry on. You see, the most important thing in my life is to make known to the world, that Jesus Christ is the Way, The Truth And The Life. And that know one can go to the Father except through Him. My whole existence is to glorify my God. I am very involved in my church music program. First Assembly of God in Albemarle, N.C. is a wonderful place to belong. I am on the worship dance team. We do a lot of sign language. I am a drummer on a rotating basis. I play guitar on Sunday nights to relieve the morning guitarist. I sing on the worship team and love being in the choir specials. I teach a women’s Bible study in my home and have been doing that since 1990.I am the camp program director at Shenandoah Springs in Madison, Virginia. I love to teach horseback riding in the summer as well as enjoying lifeguarding. My hobbies are sewing, writing music, ...

At the Urchin Street children’s stage during the 2005 North Texas Irish Festival it became known that I was planningto embark on a recording project for children. Someone in the audience yelled out that Linda King was going to dothe same thing and suggested that we record one together – there was much applause following that suggestion and a seed was sewn. Linda and I met at a local Dallas eatery a few months later to “discuss†the idea and walked away with a plan in hand. We have known each other and crossed paths for years - I as a solo folkie and Linda as the leader ofthe band Amberhawke; however, we had never sung or recorded together and that was about to change. This recording project is not Michael “with†Linda; nor, is it Linda “with†Michael. This is a collection of songs for“kids of all ages,†conceived of, put together, arranged, changed and rearranged by the two of us working togetherwith a high level of respect for each other and a love for the music, the songs and the children. Some of the ideas to do things or not do things were Linda’s and some were mine; but, the best idea to come out of the whole project was the one we shared without discussion – to have children singing on the CD too. As it turned out, most of the kids came from St. John’s Episcopal School of Dallas and ranged in age from three years to fourteen. They did not comprise a music class, though, some are members of different music classes; and, they did not spend weeks, even days working on the material. Linda and I got the children together on a vacation day morning, spent two hours going over the songs with the kids and had Travis Ener and his mobile recording studio record the children singing to a track of Linda and I – that was it. We went in at 10:00am and we were done by 3:00pm. And guess what happened? The children took some pretty good songs, threw in their hearts and souls and simply turned the songs into magical ...
