Jane Monheit's NEVER NEVER LAND presents a series of jazz standards skillfully re-imagined for the 21st century. Her warm, wise voice and sophisticated arrangements (discreet vocal overdubs, unexpected Latin grooves, a cappella moments) and style provide a nice, personal twist on classics such as "Please Be Kind," "My Foolish Heart," and "I Got it Bad (and That Ain't Good)". All this, and the rich, tart, bluesy saxophones of legends Hank Crawford and David "Fathead" Newman, too.

Liner Notes
Entertainment Weekly (10/22/00, p.79) - "There's always room for another good singer, however conservative, in the jazz pool, and Monheit fits the bill..." - Rating: B Down Beat (9/00, p.62) - 3.5 stars out of 5 - "...A nicely understated debut that bodes well for an ingenue. Her voice is airy, sweet and soft...yet she can set it on edge..." JazzTimes (12/00, p.128) - "...Monheit has a rich, vibrant voice and strong musical instincts..." Never Never Land Review

What is it about Jane Monheit that's sufficiently captured public attention to make her a star of the jazz world? Is it her photogenic mug and cheesecake album art, her close-enough-to-Krall style? Or is there just something about the way she tackles well-worn standards ("Some Other Time," "Cheek to Cheek"), more contemporary material ("Love Has No Pride," Judy Collins's "Since You've Asked"), and Brazilian tunes (by the likes of Ivan Lins, who makes a guest appearance on his own "Once I Walked in the Sun," and Vinicius De Moraes) with the same measured grace. Of course, having top-flight jazz ...

The definitive rock opera, TOMMY liberated the Who from a "singles band" stigma, marking them as a substantial artistic force. Composer Pete Townshend had flirted with the conceptual format on two previous releases, but here his vision is spread over two ambitious records that play to the Who's main strengths. Anthems such as the raucous "Pinball Wizard" and the surprisingly serene "I'm Free" emphasize the kinetic power of the band, while Townshend's cast of characters (the perverted Uncle Ernie, the inscrutable Tommy) reveals a wild and unconventional ...

With THORNOGRAPHY, Cradle Of Filth conjures up enough stylistic curveballs to keep devotees of the provocative black metal outfit guessing. Producer Rob Caggiano deepens his relationship with the Filth, after skillfully helming 2004's NYMPHETAMINE. Dani Filth and company notch back the orchestral touches prevalent on CoF's recent works opting for a less sonically dense but no less heavy album. Amidst the requisite thrashy brutality, HIM vocalist Ville Valo and newcomer chanteuse Harry guest-spot, creating some of the most interesting and melodic moments.
The Full Thornography album PLUS 6 All New Bonus Tracks in DVD-Audio and MP3 formats:
3 Music Videos - "Temptation", "Tonight In Flames", "The Foetus Of A New Day Kicking"
