Product Description

George Harrison album for sale by George Harrison was released Feb 24, 2004 on the Capitol/EMI label. One of George Harrison's finest 1970s recordings, his '79 self-titled album is most notable for the inclusion of "Not Guilty," a song originally intended for the Beatles' WHITE ALBUM. Here, in its breezy, keyboard-driven form, the tune sets the laid-back tone of the album, a mood continued by "Here Comes the Moon," a reflective riff on his signature tune "Here Comes the Sun." George Harrison CD music contains a single disc with 11 songs.   ...See Full Description

Without a doubt, Harrison's first solo recording, originally issued as a triple album, is his best. Drawing on his backlog of unused compositions from the late Beatles era, George crafted material that managed the rare feat of conveying spiritual mysticism without sacrificing his gifts for melody and grand, sweeping arrangements. Enhanced by Phil Spector's lush orchestral production and Harrison's own superb slide guitar, nearly every song is excellent: "Awaiting on You All," "Beware of Darkness," ...

After a five-year hiatus from recording, during which time he worked with his film production company, George Harrision returned to the studio in 1987 and cut the Jeff Lynne-produced CLOUD NINE. Harrison and Lynne made for a perfect match, as this album proved to be a comeback for the reclusive ex-Beatle. Joined by an all-star band that included Eric Clapton, Elton John, and Ringo Starr, Harrison put together a collection that includes sitar-tinged reminiscences of ...

Forsaking the introspective, spiritual themes of many of his earlier recordings, THIRTY THREE & 1/3 was perhaps Harrison's finest album since his landmark debut, ALL THINGS MUST PASS. Released in 1976, THIRTY THREE & 1/3 spawned several hit singles, including "This Song" (an upbeat rocker featuring some jaunty organ playing by Billy Preston and a spoken word cameo from Monty Python's Eric Idle) and "Crackerbox Palace," a tuneful, mid-tempo pop song that offers a playful ...

Rebounding from a poorly received 1974 American tour, Harrison returned in 1975 with one of his most well-crafted albums to date. Having realized that the record-buying public was no longer particularly interested in listening to his musical evocations of Eastern mysticism (and songs with titles like "The Lord Loves The One Who Loves The Lord"), Harrison reigned-in his spiritual leanings and concentrated on making music with more general appeal. One of the best songs on ...

Falling squarely between the soulful, exploratory songwriting of *'s early solo efforts and his later, commercially oriented pop, 1981's SOMEWHERE IN ENGLAND is a varied collection that reflects the guitarist's past with the Beatles and the musical currents of the early '80s. "Blood from a Clone" has an almost New Wave feel to it, and is a vitriolic attack on the corporate music industry (Harrison was embroiled in battles with Warner Brothers over the...

Generally overlooked in the ex-Beatle's solo discography, 1982's GONE TROPPO finds * flirting with radio-friendly, synth-driven pop hooks of the early-1980s, while still demonstrating his penchant for great, timeless melodies. The opener, "Wake Up My Love," establishes the light, breezy tone of the album, which continues through the Caribbean-via-Fab Four vibe of the title track. The languid love song "Unknown Delight" and the goofy doo-wop of "I Really Love You," which recalls Beatles novelty numbers such...
