When a hip-hop album leads off with songs entitled "Pimp Bitch" and "25 Hoes," its safe to assume we're not in socially conscious A Tribe Called Quest-style territory. Such is the case with Tela's Double Dose. For those enamored of the Dirty South style of rap, Tela delivers with a vengeance. His full-on, unapologetic evocations of the playa/hustla/gangsta lifestyle are what DOUBLE DOSE is all about. He brings these tales of livin' large and low to life with a rich vocal delivery and a gusto-filled production that utilizes infectious grooves and visceral synth tones.
This is an example of Southern Rap "Screwed" mix style.

Tela Double Dose (Slow) Songs Double Dose (Slow) Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) Aside from the first Tele album, this is the best.... This is the best Tela album since he signed to Rap-a-Lot. It's nothin but Memphis all over it, for those who thought he lost his roots (getcha mind correct). The tightest tracks are the Intro, Pimp B!t(h, Incredible, Double Dose, Dreams, Shake it off, Wangin, Tennessee Titans, Strive, CoCo, Down for me,and the outro. That's more than 80% of the album, and if you in to the screw then you already know It only get better on the remix version.111 Submitted by antonio.daniel (mannheim, ge/ originally temple texas) Was This Review Helpful?
