| | Aesop Rock Bazooka Tooth CD (2003)
E&A
$14.69 Intital pressings of BAZOOKA TOOTH contain an Enhanced bonus CD, which contains 12 regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Personnel: Aesop Rock, Camp Lo, PFAC, El-P, Mr. Lif. Producers include: Aesop Rock, I. Bavitz, Blockhead, T. Simon, EL-P. This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files. Few labels in the rap underground boast the profile of Definitive Jux, and few rappers on Def Jux match the talents of Aesop Rock. So his second record for the label came with great expectations, engendered by the success of 2001's Labor Days, which catapulted him into the first rank of hip-hop voices. As far as the expectations go, Bazooka Tooth delivers on most of its promise. The beats are dense and the bass-lines dark, like street-level rap is supposed ...

| | Michigan & Smiley Rub-A-Dub Style CD (1992)
E&A
$27.95 Michigan & Smiley: Papa Michigan, General Smiley (vocals). All songs written by Errol Bennett, C.S. Dodd and Anthony Fairclough. Personnel: General Smiley, Papa Michigan (vocals). Arranger: Clement "Coxsone" Dodd. Quirks in the Jamaican copyright laws were instrumental in the vibrancy of the island's music scene, as a song itself could not be copyrighted and only a specific version had protection. The upshot was a continuous free for all over melodies, with up and coming producers relying on old melodies to make their reputations. It wasn't until 1978 that label head Coxsone Dodd finally bowed to the inevitable and hit back by versioning his own back catalog. The ...
