$13.29 Ruby Hinds - Mezzo-sopranoA singer of great brilliance and versatility, RUBY HINDS continues to excite us with her most recent triumph as Marian Anderson in See there in the distance, which chronicles the life and accomplishments of the legendary Contralto at the Beverly Hills Playhouse. Due to the overwhelming response the standing room only performances were extended. The piece debuted under the auspices of the Torrance Symphony in Los Angeles, CA. Ms. Hinds then brought this unique program to the stage of the Redlands Bowl Festival, which was broadcast, on PBS. Ms. Hinds was invited to bring “See there in the Distance” to the 1998 National Association of Negro Musicians National Convention in Las Vegas, as their Gala Artist. In February 2001, See there in there in the distance had its New York debut at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center and June 2001, at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, California. Ms. Hinds thrilled audiences with her portrayal Amneris in Verdi’s Aida at the Redlands Bowl under the baton of Maestro Frank Fetta. Ms. Hinds garnered critical acclaim from her debut performance of Venus in Wagner's Tannhauser, for the Hawaii Opera Theatre in Honolulu.
