"Daylight" producer steps out of Aesop's shadow
While it doesn't intially sound as dynamic as a DJ Shadow or RJD2 album, Blockhead's instrumental debut (not counting Blockhead's Broke Beats) wins one over with a mellow, almost somber mood that slowly sweeps you up. Some tracks appear rather minimalist, but they all exude a sort of hypnotic atmosphere-- especially tracks like "Sunday Seance" and arguably the album's most driving cut "Insomniac Olympics."

Blockhead Is On Another Level!
Chances are you've never heard of Blockhead, and I'm glad you haven't. Blockhead shows how hip hop is supposed to be with his own sense of style, and obvious talent.
