This DVD feature film stars Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton with Keanu Reeves, Frances McDormand and Amanda Peet. In the sparkling comedy SOMETHING'S GOTTA GIVE directed by Nancy Meyers (WHAT WOMEN WANT), divorced, successful playwright Erica Barry (Diane Keaton) has given up on finding a fulfilling romantic relationship. When her beautiful young daughter Marin (Amanda Peet) visits the family's Hamptons home with her aging, lothario boyfriend Harry Sanborn (Jack Nicholson), Erica's plight as a mature, single woman comes into stark focus. Harry exclusively dates young women, which infuriates Erica. Though initially they repel each other, things change when Harry has a heart attack and Erica comes to his aid. The two make peace and discover a smoldering attraction to one another. However, love never comes without complications. Harry still has a romantic obligation to Marin, and Erica gets a taste of Harry's lifestyle when the sexy young doctor Julian (Keanu Reeves) hits on her. Whether Erica and Harry can reconcile their differences provides the premise for an elegant, touching, and amusing tale. In their first movie together since REDS, Keaton and Nicholson share natural chemistry, each giving powerful and moving performances under Meyers' expert direction. Keaton and Nicholson are grownups struggling with age old coming-of-oldage issues like virility, femininity, sexulaity and loneliness.
Their issues and feelings come off as real - though some of the situations are a bit contrived - and you can laugh, cry and nod knowingly through almost all of the movie.
The foxy over fifty love of my life and I loved it!

I liked that movie, Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson, really very funny !!!
And Keanu Reeves, beautiful and acting very well.
A good movie to buy to enjoy (? I'm french... !)

Entertaining,funny movie
Something's gotta give is about Harry (Jack Nicholson)who always dates younger women and is going up to see His current girlfirend's mother Erica (Diane Keaton). On the day that he arrives,he has a heart attack and is escorted to the hospital. His doctor (Keannau Reeves) tells him to stay in town for a while and he ends up staying at Erica's house. Little does he know that he will become attracted to Erica. I thought this movie was really entertaining. Sure,the outline of the plot is the same as every chick-flick movie, but its refreshing to see it be about older people instead of 20/30 somethings. Jack Nicholson is basically playing himself,but Diane Keaton is terrific. She nails all sides of her character and has great chemisry with Nicholson. Overall,I recomend this movie.

The believibility of Jack wanting Diane was not proven to me.
She looked so sickly pale it distracted me from the story.
She was a poor choce in my opinion.
If it was Suzanne Somers, Susan Sarandon, Sigorney Weaver etc... That would have been great.
Reeves looked like he was with his granny.
If you love Jack no matter going on in the film get this dvd.
