Guilty Gear XX Soundtrack album
$6.09 The title Heavy Metal is somewhat misleading. Sure, this terrific soundtrack from the 1981 animated cult favorite features heavy metal and hard rock numbers. But the title refers to National Lampoon's sci-fi/fantasy magazine on which the film is based. Musically, Heavy Metal offers more than the title suggests, and the songs fit perfectly with their respective film segments. Heavy Metal was originally a double album, but at 62 minutes it fits just fine on one CD. Sixteen songs are contributed by Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Cheap Trick, Devo, Donald Fagen, Don Felder, Grand Funk Railroad, Sammy Hagar, Journey, Nazareth, Stevie Nicks, Riggs, and Trust; Cheap Trick, Felder, and Riggs each provide two. Most songs are exclusive to this soundtrack. The best-known song here is Journey's ballad "Open Arms." Blue Oyster Cult's darkly menacing "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" is a haunting gem. Devo's quirky, new wave interpretation of the Allen Toussaint-penned "Working in the Coal Mine" ...

$11.99 WHEN ACTORS SING could be the title of a surreal reality-based TV show; instead it often turns out to be an all too real phenomenon. Luckily, the soundtrack for the Bruce Paltrow-directed movie comedy about the world of karaoke turns out to be a highly listenable collection of real-life musicians and actors picking ...

$9.65 Maurice Jarre wrote the central musical motif of his score for Doctor Zhivago, "Lara's Theme," in a few minutes in a hotel, amid a frantic five-week rush to score the 197-minute movie. That theme made the Doctor Zhivago soundtrack album one of the biggest selling soundtrack of the 1960s, ...

Guilty Gear XX Soundtrack songs
$9.95 Jimmy Forrest had a tremendous hit in 1951 with "Night Train," a simple blues riff he lifted from Duke Ellington's "Happy Go Lucky Local." Although the tenorman was not able to duplicate that song's appeal with any other recording, he was a popular performer in the R&B circuit throughout the 1950s. Virtually all of his records from the era (originally made for the United label) are on this CD reissue, including five selections not previously released. The tough-toned Forrest was not really a screamer or ...

Midwest rockers Motion City Soundtrack give their best post-grunge impression on their studio debut, I Am the Movie. It's probably the slickest thing Epitaph has released up to this point and pretty stylish compared to their celebrated punk roster (Bad Religion, Pennywise, Rancid, ...

Guilty Gear XX Soundtrack CD music
$15.19 Can’t Stop Now, the new CD release from JoBonanno & The Godsons, was recorded during the winter and spring of 2008-2009 at LakeHouse Music in Asbury Park, NJ. The project was produced by Jon Leidersdorff, and engineered and mixed by Rob Lebret. The album marks a maturity in songwriting over the group’s 2003 release Turn Up the Heat (a true party record) as well as the precision of ensemble execution that results from playing hundred of gigs all across the tri-state are for many years. The record boasts a diversity of styles while at the same time exhibiting a cohesive sound throughout. “Americana” is a term that comes to mind when trying to convey the varied influences that are exposed in this 12-song album. Country, Cajun, 60’s Pop, Gospel, Ballads and Rockers all make their appearances in this 50-minute listening experience. Bandleader JoBonanno’s personality jumps out of the speakers whether ...
