This DVD feature film stars Jessica Alba, Mekhi Phifer, Lil' Romeo, Missy Elliott, Ginuwine. Special DVD special features include deleted scenes, outtakes Dance Like Honey, exclusive music videos, more. With a plethora of flashy cameos by artists Missy Elliot, Tweet, Ginuwine, Jadakiss, and Sheek, HONEY feels like an extended hip-hop video with an inspiring, socially conscious message about ambition and the bittersweet taste of success.
New York City dancer-choreographer Honey Daniels (Jessica Alba, of TV's DARK ANGEL) hopes her talent will soon be recognized, but for now she's working three odd jobs: clerk in a record store, dance teacher at the local youth center, and bartender in a Manhattan dance club. Hot director of music videos Michael Ellis (David Moscow, JUST MARRIED, BIG) spots an amateur video of Honey cutting a rug after work, and gives her a shot at the big time when he asks her to choreograph videos for Ginuwine and Tweet. Just as the big checks start rolling in, Honey gets a nasty dose of reality when she rebuffs the director's sexual advances and is blackballed by the industry. Honey throws herself back into her community work with a vengeance and helps two of her most talented students Benny (Lil' Romeo) and Raymond (Zachary Isaiah Williams) stay out of the hands of local drug dealers. HONEY is a 21st-century version of FLASHDANCE or FAME--an infinitely entertaining urban dance movie that gets viewers' feet tapping with high-energy choreography and strings of catchy, cutting-edge tunes. Theatrical Release: December 5, 2003 Honey Reviews: "Jessica Alba is a charmer."-- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times "[W]ith two big assets: the awesomely fit Alba and non-stop dancing that will have even the most curmudgeonly jigging in their seats."

-- Ali Jaafar, Sight and Sound "...Jessica Alba goes from Dark Angel to street angel, flashing a beatific smile..."
-- Scott Brown, Entertainment Weekly "...[A]n upbeat little hip-hop fable....The kinetic energy of the music keeps this picture moving."

| | Cyndi Lauper - Twelve Deadly Cyns. . . And Then Some DVD (2000)
Honey DVD
$7.89 Cyndi Lauper was one of the bizarrely fashioned stars who defined the lighthearted, sometimes silly pop music of the 1980's. Launched by MTV when they were still a fledgling channel, Lauper provokes a nostalgia for the time when the cable network actually played some great music videos. Videos for hits like "She Bop," "Time After Time" and the now classic "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" were ebullient, colorful romps that inspired more than enough living room dancing. TWELVE DEADLY CYNS is a wonderful showcase of these classic 1980's music videos which includes all of Cyndi's greatest hits.
This DVD contains13 outstanding Lauper music videos, including the clips: "Girls Just Want To Have Fun," "Money Changes Everything," "What's Going On," more. She narrates from Coney Island.l.

$6.55 The Rock (aka Duane Johnson) firmly establishes himself as a major Hollywood force in THE RUNDOWN, an engaging action-comedy directed by Peter Berg. Johnson/Rock plays Beck, a retriever-for-hire, who is sent on one final mission before he can retire and realize his dream of opening up a restaurant. Trading in the cement streets of Los Angeles for the jungles of the Amazon, Beck begins his quest to locate his boss' son, Travis (Seann William Scott). When he walks into the establishment of the beautiful Mariana (Rosario Dawson), he does just that. But before he can drag Travis back to the airstrip and deliver him to his father, the evil Hatcher (Christopher Walken) arrives and reminds Beck that this is his jurisdiction. Apparently, Travis is incredibly close to locating a rare relic, and until that happens, Hatcher isn't letting Travis out of his sight. Of course, Beck uses his talent for kicking butt to escape with Travis, but after their jeep tumbles off a mountain, they find themselves trapped in the jungle with Hatcher hot on their trail. Berg's film breathes with a lighthearted air that is truly refreshing for the action genre, while the relentlessly hilarious interplay between The Rock and Scott is a sight to behold.
A bounty hunter traverses the Amazon to find the rebellious son of an underworld kingpin. This DVD feature film stars The Rock, Seann William Scott, Christopher Walken and Rosario Dawson.
| | Gothika DVD (2003)
Honey film
$8.19 GOTHIKA stars Halle Berry as Dr. Miranda Grey, a psychiatrist who becomes a patient in her own mental hospital after she is accused of murdering her husband (Charles S. Dutton). Grey's only initial memory of the incident involves a chilling encounter with a distraught girl (Kathleen Mackey) on a rain-soaked road. The incarcerated and medicated Grey is now haunted by the same apparition, and she must convince her former colleague Pete Graham (Robert Downey Jr.) that she is not insane or guilty of murder. Meanwhile, the seemingly mad ramblings of Chloe (Penelope Cruz), one of Grey's former patients, now make more sense, and Grey must throw aside clinical logic to solve the supernatural murder mystery.
Kassovitz, who is already a capable actor (AMELIE) and director (CRIMSON RIVERS), makes the leap to Hollywood filmmaking with GOTHIKA. Drawing from heavily from the Japanese horror renaissance that began with RINGU in the late 1990s, Kassovitz conjures up a forebodingly stark and shadowy tale. Berry continues her remarkable string of success (after her Oscar-winning role in MONSTER'S BALL, along with DIE ANOTHER DAY and X-MEN 2), portraying Grey as a traumatized and vulnerable yet determined woman who must unravel the brutal and bizarre knot of her own lost memory. As Grey's coworker, Downey Jr. adds an intriguing element to the film, and Cruz, as a frustrated inmate, gives an unusual quirky performance. A scare-laden thriller that delights in the strange and the frightening, GOTHIKA proves to be one of the finest of 2003's many horror films.
A brilliant and respected criminal psychologist, Dr. Miranda Grey (Halle Berry) is an expert at knowing what is rational. Under the direction of her husband (Charles S. Dutton), Miranda treats dangerously disturbed patients at the Woodward Penitentiary for Women. But Miranda's life is thrust into terrifying jeopardy after a cryptic encounter with a mysterious young girl leads to a nightmare beyond her wildest imagination.

$9.75 A taut, mysterious thriller, TRAUMA stars Colin Firth (LOVE, ACTUALLY) as Ben, an insect-obsessed man slowly putting together the pieces of his life as he awakes from a coma. He discovers that the car accident which lead to his unconscious state claimed the life of his wife, and the police suspect him of murdering a famous pop star. Ben's sense of disorientation at this news is heightened by plenty of visual trickery deployed by director Marc Evans (MY LITTLE EYE), who litters the hospital where the bulk of the film plays out with lashes of David Lynch-inspired imagery. Mena Suvari (AMERICAN BEAUTY) makes a few brief appearances as Charlotte, whom Ben becomes infatuated with, and the action builds slowly to an unforgettable climax.
Waking from a coma after a car crash, Ben (Colin Firth) learns that his wife was killed in the accident, and his world collapses. As Ben attempts to rebuild his life, he gets a new job and new home and is befriended by a beautiful young neighbor, Charlotte (Mena Suvari). His life starts to turn around, but all is not what it seems

| | Young Frankenstein DVD (1974)
Honey review
$10.49 An affectionate parody that pays homage to the FRANKENSTEIN films (from the novel FRANKENSTEIN by Mary Shelley) directed by James Whale in the 1930s, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is both a zany comedy and a cinematic tour de force. Written by director Mel Brooks and the film's star, Gene Wilder, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN has all the usual--and in this case slightly unusual--suspects: the reluctant scientist Frederick Frankenstein, who is actually the grandson of the infamous creature-creator (pronounced "Fronken-steen" and played by Wilder), his spoiled fiancée (Madeline Kahn), Igor the pop-eyed hunchback (Marty Feldman), his dizzy assistant (Teri Garr), the castle's hideous head housekeeper (Cloris Leachman), and, of course, the Monster (Peter Boyle). Highlights include the sets, which are the original ones used in the Whale films; the beautiful black-and-white cinematography; and the fine screenplay. Combining noirish elegance with uproarious sight gags and double entendres is a feat Brooks pulls off fabulously, directing the wonderful ensemble to act with sensitivity and humanistic feelings as well as with lunatic abandon. YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is a treat from beginning to end.
DVD. Feature film. Letterboxed. Stars Gene Wilder, Madelin e Kahn, Cloris Leachman, Peter Boyle, more. Dir. by Mel Bro oks.
