As the title The Resurgence of Dexter Gordon (1960) suggests, the tenor sax master resurfaced from his chronic bouts of addiction in an attempt to revive his on-again/off-again recording career. Truth be told, Gordon was actually on parole from Chino State Penitentiary and co-starring in a local Los Angeles production of The Connection -- a play ironically enough about the victims of heroin dependence. Julian "Cannonball" Adderley was able to talk the tenor into participating in a no-strings-attached studio date. Gordon (tenor sax), alongside Martin Banks (trumpet), Richard Boone (trombone), Charles "Dolo" Coker (piano), Charles Green (bass), and Larry Marable (drums) convened under the watchful eyes and ears of legendary producer Wally Heider ...

Journey To Romance CD music
$16.49 Born:Sopchoppy FloridaInstruments:Yamaha 1978 Acoustic Guitar, Seagull Acoustic Guitar, 1974 Gibson L6S Electric Guitar, Nord Electro 2 Keyboardand, Special 20 Harmonicas Growing up in the small southern town of Sopchoppy Florida, Brandon was constantly surrounded by storytellers " My Mema Eloise is probably the best storyteller I know," he says, "If you told her it was hot outside she would just laugh and say “hot, I remember one summer it was so hot we fried an egg outside on the pavement by the old schoolyard.” It was stories like this that sculpted Brandon early on in his life to become a great singer songwriter. Brandon’s music charms even the greatest storytellers; with his down to earth lyrics and laid back melodies you can picture the events unfolding as if they were taking place in front of your very own eyes. His music is real, mesmerizing, haunting, and very powerful. Brandon first started playing music when he found his mom’s old guitar just collecting dust in the closet when he was about fourteen years old. It was then and there Brandon started experimenting with music learning to play songs with three easy chords and writing simple ballads that consisted of his childhood experiences growing up in a small quiet town. Since then his music has grown to enormous proportions; selling albums throughout the United States and across seas, Brandon has evolved into a seasoned singer/songwriter and proves to be a vibrant up and coming artist. Brandon was influenced early on by artist long before his time, artist like Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, John Lee Hooker, Otis Redding, and Creedence Clearwater Revival sculpted Brandon into the musician he is today. "I like songs that I can relate to; songs that are authentic and real. Whether it’s a song about fishing in the dark, or the one that got away, to create a song that captures the audience and make them feel as if they were part of the equation or part of the story is truly my goal as a singer/songwriter.” Brandon’s love for minimalism and simplicity is what makes his music so unique. “It’s the simple things in life that make us who we are as an individual, and I like to sing about that.” In early 2003 Brandon released his debut album “There’s Still Time” and sold multiple copies throughout the southeast. “That was truly a learning experience,” says Brandon “seeing how I didn’t know the first thing about recording. Here I was sitting in my bedroom with a pair of hand me down headphones, a cheap condenser mic, and no idea what I was doing.” Then word got out and his album sales quickly spread all over the United States and Europe. “There’s Still Time” was also featured live on the best voted web radio shows in Westerlo Belgium, Somewhere Between and Golden Flash. Brandon followed up from his first album with “Dirt Road Melodies”; an acoustic compilation of songs that dive into life experiences and the realization of a culture that is coming to past. Like his first album “Dirt Road Melodies” also sold ...
