(3 Customer Reviews)
After taking a considerable amount of time off, Freddie Jackson appeared poised to take over the spot he so rightfully held on the throne of urban adult contemporary radio during the '80s. However, the landscape and climate of urban radio changed and left Jackson having to adapt, which gives It's Your Move a bit of a hurried, uneven production style throughout. Jackson's voice is still the dominant focus, as smooth and assured as ever, even though it feels at odds with the slick and overly polished production sound. Nevertheless, fans pining for new Jackson material will be pleased in what they hear here, even if it isn't exactly his finest offering. ~ Rob Theakston Freddie Jackson It's Your Move Songs | 1. | Natural Thing |

| | Rhian Benson Gold Coast CD (2003)
It's Your Move music CDs
$11.49 The music of Rhian Benson is an exciting mélange of R&B, soul, jazz, reggae, hip-hop, and worldbeat. Her debut recording titled Gold Coast features the stunning vocalist interpreting 13 songs that she wrote and co-produced with James Poyser (Lauryn Hill, the Roots, Jill Scott) and Bob Power (D'Angelo, A Tribe Called Quest, Erykah Badu). Her warm, jazz-influenced vocals are a natural result of her strong musical heritage (both of her parents are musicians) and by being nourished and encouraged by the profusion of music and musicians that surrounded her during her upbringing in Africa, India, and England. Gold Coast opens with "Words Hurt Too," a sad ballad about the insensitive remarks that can cause a great relationship to go wrong. Benson's sensitive interpretation captures the essence of heartbreak through her use of earthy blue notes and elongated rhythmic phrasings. Her voice is so unfeigned, and her lyrics are so heartfelt. On "The One," you can literally feel the sincerity ...
| | Will Downing Emotions CD (2003)
It's Your Move songs
$14.09 To the untrained eye, silken-voiced Will Downing may seem merely an R&B journeyman, making solid, soulful records year after year, just on the edge of stardom. However, there has to be more to an artist whose first hit single is an update of John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme." And, indeed, EMOTIONS, the singer's tenth album, features a jazz undercurrent (no, not Kenny G "jazz"), sincerely channeling the spirit of Bill Withers and Al Green records past.
EMOTIONS opens with a tender jam (gutsily "for the fellas"), "A Million Ways," which asserts "making love ain't just in the bed." In this chronicle of the simple ways to please a woman, Downing creates such a smooth groove that the complexities of love seem rather basic. Later in the album, he manages to discover a new angle to the oft-covered "Hey There Lonely Girl," his baritone contrasting with the falsetto of the most famous version. Will Downing's ...

It's Your Move album
$11.59 Especially when compared to his explosion onto the adult contemporary and quiet storm radio scene in the '80s, the '90s weren't too kind to Freddie Jackson. A longtime soft rock radio staple, his instantly recognizable anthems began to show their wrinkles and cracks with their dated productions, and were slowly replaced with more current and polished productions. Thankfully, ...

It's Your Move music CDs
$13.15 KNOWHERE was founded in Uster (Switzerland) in October 1992 by Zappi (guitars, effects), Kov (vocals, drums), Philippe (guitars) and Dany (Bass). The original style of the band was grind core. It soon became atmospheric varied black metal. The lyrics of KNOWHERE are neither political nor religious and the band uses neither triggers nor keyboards. The first demo-tape was recorded in 1994. It contained seven songs and was presented at KNOWHEREs first concert in Oberglatt (Zurich, Switzerland). Despite the very positive reactions of the audience, KNOWHERE did not play another concert until 1997. This was partially due to the fact that the four band members had to fulfill the obligatory Swiss army duty. KNOWHERE released their first CD Knowhere in fall 1997. The album contained four atmospheric black metal songs which had been recorded in KNOWHEREs own studio. Unfortunately, Dany left the band in October 1998. However, KNOWHERE found session bass players for the next concerts (at Z7 (Pratteln) and at Dynamo (Zurich)). KNOWHEREs homepage (http://www.knowhere.ch) went online in 1998. In 1999, KNOWHERE and three other metal bands founded the non-profit organization E.L.K.S.-Syndicate. This organization supports young underground bands and organizes concerts for them. In the meantime E.L.K.S. has become a permanent part of the Swiss metal scene. In fall 1999, KNOWHERE found a new bass player. Arlette Eiselfe H.D. joined the band and created the necessary basslines on a keyboard. After a couple of months, she replaced the keys with a real 5-string bass guitar and thus the KNOWHERE line-up was complete again. After some concerts with larger audiences and lots of positive feedback, Philippe decided to quit the band due to lack of time. While looking for a new guitar player, the three remaining members of KNOWHERE continued to play concerts according to their motto We always play everywhere!. After a rather unconventional concert appearance in the cloister of the great cathedral in Zurich, Fuhli joined the band and brought new energy into KNOWHEREs music. This was followed ...
