Bodyworkers will be thrilled by this three-disc set, which brings together cherished New Earth Records artists and some of their best healing work from the albums SHAMANIC HEALING by Kamal, REIKI: TOUCH OF LOVE by Anuvida and Nik Tyndall, and MONSOON POINT by Al Gromer Khan and Amelia Cuni.
On Kamal's best-selling album, earthy chants and synthesizer drones cavort with flutes that mimic exotic bird songs. Tribal percussion moves things along without disrupting the soothing quality of the sound. This aborigine-inspired trance music is an enlivening backdrop for conscious movement, meditation, relaxation, or the healing arts.
The follow-up album to the much-beloved REIKI: HEALING HANDS finds Nik Tyndall and Anuvida respectively playing synthesizer and kiboe (a harp-like instrument invented by Anuvida). They wrote these five ethereal tracks specifically to accompany a Reiki healing session; there is even a gentle chime at three-minute intervals to remind the Reiki practitioner to change hand positions. However, the flowing music also suits a yoga practice or any other meditative endeavor.
MONSOON POINT is a deeply relaxing meditation on timelessness that pairs Gromer Khan's ethereal synthesizer washes with Amelia Cuni's classical Indian vocals.
Personnel includes: Al Gromer Khan (keyboards); Kamal (vocals, didgeridoo, monochord, keyboards, percussion); Anuvida (kiboe, programming); Dr. Didge Dolphin (didgeridoo); Nik Tyndall (synthesizer).
Personnel: Al Gromer Khan (keyboards); Amelia Cuni (vocals); Ariel Kalma (bamboo flute); Nik Tyndall (synthesizer).

Essence Of Well-Being
$11.15 LE ROI EST MORT, VIVE LE ROI was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best New Age Album and for Best Recording Package.
On its third album, Enigma reshapes the most interesting aspects of its previous two into a distinctly different atmosphere. ENIGMA3 has tangible Indonesian influences, as did 1994's THE CROSS OF CHANGES; it also smoothly and dramatically incorporates Gregorian chant, which was prominent on Enigma's debut, MCMXC A.D. Unlike those albums, it features significant vocals by Enigma mastermind Michael Cretu. His voice brings tension and emotion to tracks such as "Why!..." and "The Roundabout."

| | Enigma Cross Of Changes CD (1994)
Essence Of Well-Being
$11.59 On THE CROSS OF CHANGES, Enigma delves into the mystic with a musical fervor that transcends sampling technologies and popular dance beats. THE CROSS OF CHANGES is a serene yet supremely sensual musical synthesis that might best be characterized as new age hip-hop. Enigma's worldwide hit MCMXC A.D. was notable for, among other things, its use of Gregorian chants as samples in a heady techno mix, which inspired such delirious interest in this ancient music that The Benedictine Monks Of Santo Domingo De Silos are currently enjoying their own Top 10 hit--CHANT.
With THE CROSS OF CHANGES, Enigma's auteur Michael Cretu has merged a series of chants and simple devotional lyrics into a smooth techno-psychedelic wall of sound that is, in contemporary terms, a synthesized flipside to the techno-pop dance grooves of groups like Ace Of Base. Apples and oranges? Certainly, but both groups do employ texture and repetition to particular advantage in a pop context. However, where Ace Of Base finds nirvana in the incantory rhythms of reggae and the classic textures of old-fashioned analog synthesizers, Enigma extracts their hypnotic rhythms and textures ...

Essence Of Well-Being
$12.05 For over a quarter century, Japan's Kitaro has been an internationally recognized icon and globally acclaimed composer and musician. Influenced early on by American rock and R&B, Kitaro began experimenting with synthesizers and a rainbow of unconventional sounds in the mid-'70s. His pioneering fusion of electronic artistry, traditional Japanese forms, and pop-inflected Western idioms created a lush, harmonic, and poetic sound that won the now legendary artist a huge international following. 1980's Volume 1 in the revered Silk Road series is considered an all-time masterpiece, with subsequent volumes only adding to its luster. '87's GRAMMY-nominated The Light Of The Spirit, a collaboration with Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart, exceeded sales of two million in the U.S. alone, elevating Kitaro's presence Stateside to an unprecedented degree. 1992's transcendent Dream, made with Yes' Jon Anderson, was also a smash, and other highlights are too numerous to single out.2000's Thinking Of You, which online music bible allmusic.com called "one of the most beautiful CDs of all time," won a GRAMMY for Best New Age Album, and Kitaro is universally acknowledged as a founding architect of the genre. That being said, Kitaro's atmospheric, powerfully emotive, and ...
