Unlike most of his Hollywood counterparts, who were just cut out inmitations, Audie Murphy was the real deal.A genuine hero transcends time and allows us to feel just as proud today of someone of Murphy's character as people 60 years ago would have been.Even though this film is a relatively brief and, by today's standards, a sanitised description of modern warefare, it nonetheless has inspired me to purchase the book to try to get a better understanding of what Murphy and those serving with him, really went through.

This movie was helpful in that it provided an insight into a true war hero's actions. It was just a bit over-glorified, but understandably, because of the war.
