I've waited a long time to see this show come out on DVD! Until now it was only issued on an out-of-print and hard-to-find VHS tape and the now-defunct laserdisc format. Now, the video image is the best it's ever been, and the new 5.1 surround sound is a joy to listen to. Sweeney Todd on DVD - need I say more?

The classic production of one of the greatest Broadway shows ever. Thank God someone thought to film this and preserve the incredible performances of Angela Lansbury (if you only know her from Murder She Wrote - wait till you see her here) and George Hearn. I'm curious to see the Johnny Depp/Tim Burton version, but I don't see how they could top this original version.

I didnt hear about this Play until I took a theatre class. My Theatre teacher said here's a little halloween gift for you guys. I'm sitting next to two of my friends and I'm sitting there thinking "omg, another boring play we have to sit threw." My teacher turned off the lights and turned on the play. I hear the music its intense and quiet. Then my teacher had to ruin it by jumpping out of nowhere behind me. But i loved it. We watched it three days in a row. the more i watched it the more my friends and I started to love it. Now we keep on telling eachother we're going to get the DVD and the Album. Now i can order them both and we can have a sweeney todd party! I've loved this play ever since my teacher introduced it to us. I want to thank him for it!

Watching the Broadway performance of Angela Lansbury and George Hearn was true bliss. This is what Stephen Sondheim expected from his music. This DVD is the perfect one to watch to see Sweeney Todd in a theatrical setting.

Teen angst abounds in this classic comedy written and directed by John Hughes. Samantha Baker's (Molly Ringwald) 16th birthday should be perfect and memorable. Unfortunately, her whole family is preoccupied with her sister's impending wedding and completely forgets Samantha's big day. To add insult to injury, the school geek (Anthony Michael Hall) won't stop hitting on her, she has to bring a foreign exchange student (Gedde Watanabe) with her to the school dance, her visiting grandparents have taken over her bedroom, and she's sure that the boy of her dreams (Michael Schoeffling) doesn't know that she exists. Hughes's script captures the range of teenage emotions, from embarrassment to peer pressure to the pangs of puppy love, with humor and honesty.
