Standard Screen; Soundtrack English A young boy disappears one fine Florida night and reappears eight years later, none the worse for wear and apparently not a day older. It seems he was abducted by aliens and employed as an intergalactic navigator on their spacecraft. Now, with the help of his otherworldly friends, he must find a way to get back to the correct time before it's too late. David Freeman (Joey Cramer), a 12-year-old boy, is mysteriously abducted by an alien ship and returns to Earth eight years later, still only 12. He now possesses great navigational powers that enable him to fly his space ship anywhere he desires. Along with the robotic Commander Max (voiced by Paul Reubens under the name Paul Mall) and Mascot Puckmarin, the boy encounters an adventure of extraterrestrial proportions. -- Caryn James, New York Times "...Entertaining....Kids should be attracted by the visuals and some nifty special effects..."
-- Jagr., Variety "...Pleasant....The script plays to director Randal Kleiser's strength, which is a sensitivity and conviction in depicting young people in relation to one another and their parents..."

If you do not like this film... If you do not like this film, you need your head examined. This is an excellent film and it had all three of my children (5,3 and 1) mesmorised. A wonderful babysitter and a great cinematic piece to boot! Submitted by Wesley Lance (East Texas, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
"Compliance!" this is such a wonderful family film, all of us have watched it many times. Awesome adventure of a 12ish boy who gets a little bit of "it's a wonderful life" situation (when george sees what life would be like without him.) Great voice work by Peewee Herman. Another Disney dazzler ... No doubting the Disney team. They hit the heights with this one.
A cracker story. A little boy lost tale that manages to include not only lost on earth but lost in the cosmos and lost in time too.
Pure class with a capital K. The whole family will lap it up again and again with levels for all ages and tastes. The petrol station scene is absolute vintage Disney, just inspired cinema.
Get it today, and the DVD transfer is top class too, a sparkling print. Submitted by mrudduck (Melbourne, Australia) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
