Guitarist Peter White follows up his 2001 release Glow with more solid melodic smooth jazz on Confidential. Once again there is an amiable mix of quiet storm-ready ballads, up-tempo Latin numbers, and groove-oriented soundscapes. Joining White are such instrumental pop luminaries as trumpeter Chris Botti, keyboardist Brian Culbertson, and percussionist Paulinho Da Costa. While there are no particular surprises here, fans of White's incomparable guitar playing should find much to enjoy on this laid-back disc. ~ Matt Collar Confidential Music | List Price | $7.99 (You save $0.40) | | Category | Rock/Pop Albums, Jazz Instrument CDs, Smooth Jazz, Guitar, Jazz | | Label | Columbia | | Orig Year | 2004 | | All Time Sales Rank | 1835 | | CD Universe Part number | 6683228 | | Catalog number | 89090 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Mar 23, 2004 | | Studio/Live | Studio | | Mono/Stereo | Stereo | | Personnel | Jerry Hey - trumpet Peter White - various instruments, programming Steve Ferrone - drums Peter White - various instruments, programming Paul Brown - electric guitar Joel Peskin - saxophone, flute Rex Rideout - keyboards, programming Roberto Vally - bass DC Matthew Hager - guitar, bass, programming David Sparkman - vocals Steven Hoffman - trombone

$8.99 Personnel: Peter White (guitar, keyboards); Jeffrey Osborne, Jonathan Butler (vocals); Richard Elliot, Boney James (saxophone); Rick Braun (trumpet); Bob James (Fender Rhodes piano). For his tenth full-length album, Playin' Favourites, British smooth jazz giant Peter White decided to, as the title suggests, turn to some of his favorite tracks from the '60s, '70s, and '80s, giving each of them his own interpretation (he did a similar thing in 1994's Reflections). Working with longtime producer Paul Brown, as well as musicians Boney James, Rick Braun, and Dave Camp, among others, White successfully turns the 11 songs on Playin' Favourites into instant crossover jazz hits. Mainly this means adding horns and keyboards to the background while the guitarist lithely moves ...

| | Dallas Moore Tales From A Road King CD (2008)
Confidential
$16.45 Mixing dirty honky-tonk and southern rock with elements of down home bluegrass and raucous roadhouse blues, Dallas Moore has developed a nationwide grass-roots following as a modern day icon of Outlaw Country Music. Stewed and brewed in the honky-tonks, motorcycle rallies and concert halls of America, Dallas and his band The Snatch Wranglers have kept up a relentless tour schedule averaging 300 dates a year supporting the royal heirarchy of Outlaw Country and Southern Rock, supporting like-minded legends, David Allan Coe, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, The Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd as well as modern day keepers of the Outlaw flame such as Shooter Jennings and white hot country duo Montgomery Gentry. Attending a Dallas Moore show has been described as a counter culture happening where his audience, a mixed bag of bikers, college kids and whiskey chuggin' rednecks is quite a site to behold. It's this melting pot and blend of traditional country and balls to the wall rock-n-roll audiences of America that has proven Dallas and his band to be one of the best live acts onstage in the good ol' USA on any given night. 2008 brings the release of Dallas' 6th CD "Tales From a Road King." This is the first recording to be co-produced by Dallas and Ken Glidewell (of Big In Iowa and Tequila Kings fame) and released on Dallas' own independent "Cash Dog" imprint. It's this unrepentant "do it yer damn self" attitude that has garnered Moore national attention including 2 songs "Bad Checks" and "Every Sad Song On The Jukebox" ...
