If you enjoy the old black and white mystery thrillers from the '30's and 40's, this dvd will give you many hours of enjoyment. Some of the movies are well-known, such as the Bulldog Drummond and Sherlock Holmes films; others are obscure and definitiely oddball such as Detour and Mystery Liner. If old, corny, black and white's are your cup of tea, this DVD will give you more than your money's worth.

Mystery Lovers' Delight
An amazing collection for the mystery lover. This DVD collection has an excellent line-up of super-sleuths, featuring Bulldog Drummond, Sherlock Holmes, Dick Tracy Mr. Wong and Mr. Moto. Not to leave out Nancy Drew, The Shadow and Philo Vance. Also, included are 24 other mysteries starring Hollywood headliners, such as Frank Sinatra, Mickey Rooney, Donna Reed, Glenn Ford, Charles Boyer, John Garfield and Bela Lugosi, to name a few. The film noir enthusiast will have hours of thrills, entranced in this marvelous collection.

My Folks Love It.
This turned out to be a terrific gift for my parents, who are in their 70's. They are really delighted with seeing all their "old favorite" detective mystery stars again. It's a "win" in the gifts category.

This box set is fine value for money - at 50c a movie why should'nt it be! A fine seletion of public domain thrillers. Quality differs from film to film but generally very watchable.

A modern spin on the opera LA BOHEME, RENT tells the story of eight friends dealing with life and love in Manhattan's Alphabet City in 1989. Wannabe filmmaker Mark (Anthony Rapp) and singer/songwriter Roger (Adam Pascal) are facing eviction at the hands of their former roommate and current landlord, Benny (Taye Diggs). Benny has married rich, moved out of the neighborhood, and wants to build a state-of-the-art studio where the local tent city stands. Their downstairs neighbor, vivacious Mimi (Rosario Dawson), who strips at a local club to feed her heroin habit, takes a shine to Roger, a self-imposed recluse and former junkie whose last girlfriend died of AIDS.
