I listened to this album on cassette when I was a little girl more than 20 years ago. I'm expecting my first child and am so excited to find it still available!

5 stars I grew up listening to this tape!
I used to listen to this tape over and over when I was a child I loved it so much. I'm 24 now and the tape broke when my daughter was listening to it. I'm very excited to know that there's a CD. I'm definitely go to buy back ups. My girl friends just had their fist children so i'm getting them one too.

5 stars I grew up listening to this album! It's a classic!
I used to listen to this album on car trips when I was a little girl. I love, love, love this album! Now, I'm 26 and have a daughter of my own; I am so excited to shar these songs with her. I KNOW your memories of these songs will last a lifetime! What a gift!

5 stars NEVER GET TIRED OF HEARING
I had this cassette for my kids when they were little. We used to sing and dance to the casette-I started teaching the songs to my granddaughters-one of my daughters found the old cassette-we were all so excited to find it on a CD.

Java's north coast is a cultural jumble even by Indonesian standards. In the 20th century waves of Europeans, Javanese and Sundanese overtook a highly multi-ethnic group that had earlier merged into so-called Batavians. Three pieces from a village theater form called Topeng Betawi begin this volume. The ensemble features many of the same gongs and tuned bronze xylophones used in Javanese gamelan, as well as the rebab (local violin) and female singer that cover many of the melodies in both styles. Topeng Betawi music ranges between quietly menacing passages and frenzied, metallic clangor.

Kids Nursery Rhymes, Vol. 1 is an intriguing collection of children's music standards and strange gems from a scarier past. It begins with an odd little song called "Aerophane Jelly" that may or may not be about the tasty French treat. With its female-chorus vocals and loping, slightly unsettling rhythm, the song suggests the campy, naďve genius of the Shaggs, or those deceptively twee ditties that always accompany the crazed maniacs' childhood flashbacks in 1980s slasher flicks.
