Air 4: Elle A Du Shell music CDs
$7.79 Blake Shelton and the folks at Reprise must have been encouraged by both the reception and sales of his "six pack" EP, Hillbilly Bone, because barely five months later, he followed with another one in All About Tonight. There are certain advantages to the format: the artist can be reliant on one single instead of three or four, and cohesion and flow are not as important as they would be on a traditional long-player. Finally, the price point is more attractive to fans. Shelton does two things, and he does them extremely well: rowdy, rocking contemporary tunes about raising hell and making romantic mischief, and singing (mostly) believable ballads. The rollicking title track reached number ten on the Billboard Country chart before this set was released. In addition, it features two contributions from real-life fiance Miranda Lambert. The first is the duet "Draggin' the River," a sassy, good-time, honky tonk love song designed for dancing -- their voices trade lines easily enough and it's capped ...

Air 4: Elle A Du Shell CD music
$17.79 Fort Collins based rock band, Roe, has returned to make their ever-growing impact on the local music scene. It's been two years since the band released their debut CD, "Frame by Frame," and "Letters and Lights" proves to be a breath of fresh air for a music scene that needed it. The album opens with "Come Undone", proof of the bands versatility as the cross over into a near folk rock tone matches the sincerity of bands like The Fray. "Lucky," "I Believe It," and "Mayday," begin to open up the album's more rock and roll factor, and introduce you to guitarist and co-front man David Anderson's vocal ability. "The Start," is a slightly softer song that leads into more of a four on the floor groove that keeps you entranced until the very end. "Everything You Are," takes you into the realm of seeing just how talented the guys in the band are right before dropping you into "Atlas," one of the more lyrically masterful tracks on the album. Front man Jake Espy then reminds us why so many have fallen in love with Roe's sound, and songs like "Breathe Easy," as he chills your bones with the line, "!you're breaking my heart, and still you breathe easy." "Excuses," is filled with keys that will make you want to get up and dance, while the guitar drives and the chorus explodes with nothing but positive musical energy. "The Show," one of the most dramatic tracks on the album really allows you to calm down before the album knocks you off your feet with its incredible finale. Anyone who has seen Roe live before might recognize the next two tracks on the album, "Take It Away," a more jazz based song has been revamped and introduces lead guitarist and Jake Breeding's input into the band while brother John and bassist Nick Daniluk are showcased ...

Air 4: Elle A Du Shell album
$14.89 Despite its title, The Cool Scene at Cafe Bizarre: Twelve New Ways to Fly is one of the more unusual retrospective compilations to be issued in the 21st century. The Cafe Bizarre may have become truly infamous in the late 1960s as an East Village haven for radicals and psychedelic experimenting philosophers. That said, in the later '50s and early '60s it was also a cathedral for the Beat writers and various elements of the jazz scene. This collection features poets reading their works as well musical selections by the Cafe's more famous patrons from the jazz world: Charlie Parker, Lennie Tristano, Roy Eldridge, Gerry Mulligan, Chico Hamilton, and even George Shearing. Most of the poetry on this set is by long-faded personas we never knew, and sounds like it: nostalgic yet reverent and intense imitations of works by their more well-known forebears. In other words, the works of the Mad Monk, Ellie Girl with Seven Beat Sulks, Ringo Angel (who sounds like a professor and might have even become one), Felix Lupus, Stevenson Phillips, and Jamaica Johnny Cayonne are ...
