After the dark and chilling themes of 2006's BLACK CADILLAC, which saw Rosanne Cash dealing with the deaths of her mother, Vivian Liberto, her father, Johnny Cash, and her stepmother, June Carter Cash -- all of whom passed within a two-year span -- one might assume that her next project would move into an even deeper level of bleakness, but with THE LIST, it's immediately clear that she has instead found a more measured place to stand. It's a lovely and redemptive outing that looks back to go forward. When Cash turned 18, her father, alarmed that his daughter ...

A surprise best-seller when it was first released, this mostly improvised pairing of singer/keyboardist/producer Al Kooper with two major guitar heroes of the day sounds fascinating all these years later precisely because of the distance of time--nobody makes records like this any more. The material runs the gamut from folk pop (covers of Donovan and Dylan), to blues ("Albert's Shuffle," "You Don't Love Me"), to heady jams ("His Holy Modal Majesty"), ...

So, you've heard it a million times before-..."I didn't know whether to laugh or cry..."- but how many times have you actually paid attention to that phrase? This time you will. When floods of giggles are followed by tears, followed by more giggles and "oh yay!!!" and "wow!!!" and "holy mother of God!" and more tears- assuming, that is, that you're a John ...

Details Are Everything
Lincoln Conspiracy Details Are Everything CD  (2005)

Where Do We Go From Here?
CD $11.39
The Boston Globe From June 5, 2003, Go! Thursday The only thing Lincoln Conspiracy needs to do to earn Go!'s devotion is to keep creating insanely catchy piano-based pop. After listening to their new album, ''Details Are Everything,'' all we can say is, ''Watch your back, Ben Folds.'' If you have any appreciation for the likes of the Wondermints, Brian Wilson, or the Cars, you'll totally dig this power pop trio. - Christopher MutherThe Weekly Planet From The July 30-August 5, 2003 Music MenuThis piano-driven trio first convened here in the Bay area, before common sense kicked in several years ago and they headed to Boston. The band has released three self-produced albums of accomplished pop that mix quirky indie and New Wave elements with traces of a classic sensibility. The latest "details are everything" is an extremely listenable slice of aural pleasure. The band has always garnered comparisons to Ben Folds Five, and that's in there, but so is the influence of acts like Randy Newman, E.L.O., Warren Zevon, and The Cars. Good stuff. Stop by and check it out. --Scott Harrell The Boston Herald From June 8, 2003I decided to try a new experiment with a cluster of the ...

Vision: to communicate our music and emotional content to the widest audience possible without sacrificing individual and group needs. Mission: to insure personal and professional satisfaction as a group contingent with the end musical result manifesting into a viable source of nutrient. We recorded this album in one day in a rehearsal studio in San Francisco. The studio was soon sold for 11 million dollars and thousands of bands were kicked out because of the dot com industry boom, but that's a different story... Anyway we got our friend (and amazing drummer) Pete Stalsky to sit all day and work the knobs and faders while we played our songs. Everything was recorded live except for the vocals which were overdubbed later that day. Robert was really sick and took naps. It was a long day, but in the end a pretty good effort for a very young band with no money. The album has a lot of pretty cool parts, accidents, and moments of good and badness that happened live. That is what we like about it. It captures what we were at the time. As a young band in San Francisco we were invited to play live a lot at random places. Our first gig was on top of a bus at a roller derby. A lot of our early sound was meshed with these bizarre parties and events that we found ourselves participating in. We had a lot of fun in those days. We were developing a sound that was sort of heavy but had elements of folk, pop, country, punk and metal. We wore face paint, draped Christmas lights over us, played in drag and had matching cowboy hats. Ahh, the good old days.We developed into a more intense force as the dot com industry took hold and the Bush administration came into power. All of us became very affected by what was happening in our city and in our country and we started to play benefits to aid needy organizations and to protest the pro-war policies of the Bush administration. We had friends who were dying on the streets of our city in America while Bush wanted to send more of our friends to die somewhere else. Our second record captured these intensities and can be viewed at http://cdbaby.com/cd/gildingthelily2.Anyway, back to the music. Please give us a listen and if you like something, send us an email.
