| | Marques Houston MH CD Marques Houston Discography of CDs
Marques Houston's career began at a rather tender age when, under the nickname Batman, he was one third of the pre-teen (and later teen) group Immature, which scored a Top 10 pop and R&B hit with "Never Lie." Nearly a decade later, the once precocious crooner, aged 22, finds his Immature linemates LDB & Romeo wishing him good tidings on the intro of his solo record MH. Houston makes it fairly clear from the outset that he's all grown, coming on strong on opening track "Clubbin'" as he implores "ladies show me love" as he sets up the seduction scene. He puts the exclamation point on his maturity as a dancehall beat pumps in and Jermaine Dupri and the So So Def Crew drop by on "Pop That Booty." However, Houston makes it clear on the very next track ("That Girl") that he still knows how to plant the smooth-love groove. The rest of the album remains in a soulful grind somewhere between Luther and Stevie, making MH one solid debut record.

MH album
$8.75 At this stage of her career Mariah Carey does not need to prove herself, but her voice is so powerful that with each new recording she, once again, reminds you: "Listen to what I can do." Vocal gymnastics and Christmas songs are not often thought of as a compatible combination, but on MERRY CHRISTMAS Mariah jumps, climbs, crawls, twirls and dashes her way through both traditional fare and original Christmas songs.
She shifts through styles, offering fans from all musical camps a gift of their own. Her "Silent Night" shows off a studied vocalization where liquid phrasing is key. "Miss You Most (At Christmas Time)" shows off a dynamic voice that is hard to match. ...

| | Clipse Til The Casket Drops CD (2009)
MH songs
$9.58 Had Clipse made a concerted attempt to outstrip Hell Hath No Fury, Til the Casket Drops would have likely come out sounding like self-parody. The Thorntons' previous set was so cold, lean, and efficient, the product of the circumstances under which it was made, that it is impossible to imagine an album of identical makeup trumping it. So, for the most part, Pusha T and Malice approached their third album -- their first for Columbia -- as a reflection of where they were at when they recorded ...

MH music CDs
$12.65 The \"We Will Meet Again\" project, featuring the Rev. Dr. Stephen Tyrone Thornton Memorial Mass Choir, is a musical tribute to the life and legacy of one of an anointed singer, choir director, mentor, pastor, husband, father and friend. The choir, which bears his name, was organized through the efforts of family and friends and some of the most anointed participants worldwide after Rev. Thornton\'s life ended tragically on October 21, 2002 as a result of a horrific traffic accident. In an effort to continue Rev. Thornton\'s dream of providing financial breakthroughs and destroying educational barriers for youth, proceeds from this musical project go to fund the Thornton Scholarship Foundation. Professionally recorded, this project showcases the contributions of numerous nationally-recognized and gifted voices. The \"We Will Meet Again\" project features all original, divinely-inspired tracks which were written by Rev. Thornton\'s older brother, Kenneth Thornton. Additionally, partners on this project highlight the spiritually-enriched talents of some of the most talented and renowned musicians and lead vocalists in the country, including LaDonna Mole, former soloist with Rev. John P. Kee and New Life and Minister Nigel Andrews, featured soloist with James Bignon and Deliverance. Up and coming recording artists Minister Arnold Bullock and Elder Walter Johnson graced the album. Dion Owens and the Renaissance and The Promise also lent their musical expertise to the success of \"We Will Meet Again.\" Additionally, one of the greatest contributions and best kept secrets of the south are featured on the project . . . the band! Consisting of Cedric Thompson, Calvin Napper, Reggie Graves, \"Monty\" Robertson and \"Will\" Morrison, the band really played remarkably. Under the anointed ...
| | Hiram Bullock Try Livin' It CD (2003)
MH songs
$14.29 Dreadlocked electric guitarist Hiram Bullock is best known as a monster of modern jazz fusion, with legendary associations stretching from Jaco Pastorius to Gil Evans, David Sanborn, and the Brecker Brothers. He's also amassed an impressive catalog of solo recordings but offers a unique twist on his usual presentation on Try Livin' It, by working with a handful of legendary peers (Will Lee, Ricky Peterson) and offering more of his stellar string crackle -- all in the service of pop-oriented vocal tunes. It's always exciting ...
